QUOTE(gundamsd @ Dec 3 2008, 10:42 AM)
hey bros

just changed my old sime  tyres to Dunlop SP Sport JS 175/70 R13 for a cost of RM115 per tyre...

The itemised statement are as follows...

2 pcs Dunlop Tyres - RM230
2 pc Rubber Valve - RM 10
Off Wheel Balancing (Front) - FOC
Off Wheel Balancing (Back) RM10
2 pcs Front RH/LH Camber Kit - RM70
Front Wheel Alignment - RM20
Adjust front bothside camber - RM30

TOtal - RM370...

As this is my first time changing tyres n alignment is this too expensive???

And also is it common to have my original Iswara Front RH/LH Camber Kit to be changed ???

THe mechanic told me that it has to be changed as the original ISwara Camber Kit do not allow the front wheel to be re-align ??? Is this normal ???

Pls advise TQ!

Guys i need some advise here on which brand of tyre to choose. I am looking for a tyre which is comfortable and has good grip. Michelin is my number one choice but the travelling is very low for the car so i don't want to put a very expensive tyre. Is goodyear F1 or eagle F1 good?

205/50/R16

Bridgestone MY-01
Bridgestone G111
Goodyear F1
Goodyear Eagle F1

Michellin Pilot Perceda 2
Hankook V8

how to see the width of my rim? i know wat will happen when the tyre close to it's limit, it will explode randomly then u will end up crashing somewhere else.

i dont think michelin XM1 is available for 14"

the falken 912 u r talking about is the falken ZE912? it doesn't available for 14" as well, i've checked on the website sad.gif

currently using NCT5, which is the tyre toyota install on this vios when we brought it, wanna try other brand instead of stick to 1 brand, and the front tyre shoulder seems to wear off faster than center part, maybe inflated pressure too low or wat.

seems like it is really hard to find good tyres for 175/65R14 cry.gif

y vios r not 15" in stock cry.gif
*
dude~
XM1 is available in 175/65-14 n 185/60-14 lo~ doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif

really? but i heard XM1 not good for cornering, but good for highway drive as it hv less rolling resistance.

y find u for it? u open tyre shop? where r u?

*
cuz not many ppl carry tat kind of size~
btw XM1 is a normal comfort tire n not a performance tire~
if u're looking for performance tire then u should take 185/60-14 michelin PP2 which i also availabe~
u can pm or give me a call at 012-2792112~

QUOTE(GRexer @ Jan 13 2009, 12:33 AM)
If you are willing to try other size and make, then give the Falken ZE-912 a try, they are selling for roughly RM150/each complete with installation and balancing, and 4 pieces will get free alignment.
XM-1 is more biased towards comfort and fuel economy, hence. The Pilot Precedia 2 would be the more performance biased model for Michelin.

Yes, 185 width will still fit 5" wide wheels.

Problem with you changing to 15" also is that since like you mentioned, your parents basically don't give a damn about the car as long as it runs, running 15" will end up with thinner profiled tyres, and also a higher possibility to get the 15" wheels dented since I doubt your parents will be avoiding potholes and the like.
Not too sure about the 195/50R16, probably very limited choices which is why most people would just go for 205/50R16, if not mistaken, Hankook has the 195/50R16 sizing.
185/60R14 and 175/65R14 sidewall height difference is just 2.75mm(with the 175/65 being taller by 2.75mm), kinda negligible I reckon.
*
nearest 195/50-16 is 205/45-16~

Yes, but the current trend as in more common size is 205/50R16 or 205/55R16 hence they are nowadays cheaper than 205/45R16, at least, that's how the trend is going nowadays for certain tyre makes.
Yes, better to stick back to 14" and if you can, change all 4 at the same time, if your rear tyres are still pretty thick(which I would expect so since they hadn't been rotated before), you could probably still trade them in.

I believe the PP2 is only available in 185/60R14.
*
r u sure 205/50-16 is cheap? ?
i know 205/45-16 n 205/50-16 is ard da same price~
but no doubt 205/55-16 is cheaper~

Come on, since you are the tyre dealer here, why not you post something constructive like at least giving the poor guy a quotation or suggestion instead of giving unconstructive comments like this, which I'm starting to feel fed-up of you. I'm no tyre dealer and yet I still offer to give as much info as possible.
iman, will try to get some prices for you, i'm pretty sure Hankook V8-RS has this size but ain't too sure about the price. If it's rubbing the inner fender, it might be case of too much positive offset, must be using back the same wheels without changing?
*

i jus pointing out so no point of u fed up wit me for no reason~
i jus said it's expensive for it's common size 205/45-16 n 205/5-15 for michelin PP2 is rm440 per piece~
so r u statisfied wit my answer? ?

stock size for persona is 195/60-15~
