Hi norea,

Under list of genuine brokers, if you saw the name in red, that's mean there are account opening link given. Open account with the link and you will get dedicated support from our team.

Octa is never a reliable broker.

"Tier 2 licenses under: European financial regulators (except Cysec), Australia ASIC, Canada IIROC, Hong Kong SFC."

So is Cyprus securities and exchange commission tier 1 or 2???

the (except cysec) is confusing me ... It's like saying cysec is a scam? I see a lot of brokers regulated under cysec ...

Also I feel vantagemarkets is a Tier 1 broker not on the list...

Unfortunately almost all the Tier 1/2 licenses don't apply to residence outside of the country of the regulator. It only gives a bit more assurance that they have taken an effort to be licenced in those countries but trading accounts can only be opened by residences of those country.

Taking Vantagemarkets as the example you have given and if you are not a resident of any of the Tier 1/Tier 2 license countries, you can't open an account belonging to those entity. You will end up with an account with Vantage Global which is licensed in Vanuatu. This is how most, if not every, forex broker operates when they have higher Tier licenses. Global customers (anyone not from the licensed tier countries) will end up with an account in their tier 4 Seychelles, BVI and Vanuatu licensed companies.

What we warn against are brokers that does not bother to be licensed by T1/T2 regulators and therefore a much higher risk.

[COLOR=blue]***Because it is cheaper and easier to obtain compare to tier 1.

***Too many subsidiaries are running fake forex. So no, it wont entitled to be on the list.

***Most of the brokers have different URL in Malaysia is because they were in SC alert list, hence their official web site are blocked from Malaysia access.
