Dear all, one very important question need your all help me to clarify

Let say now i changed my Unifi wifi router to other brand, will i still be able to watch the HyppTV after the wifi router changed ?

becoz currently I noticed that the network cable using for the HyppTV is connecting to the TM unifi router on the red color Ethernet port, my laptop is connected to the blue color Ethernet port, not sure about what is the different or requirement on it, scare that if I have changed the router, the HyppTv will not be able to work on other brand of router.

Thanks in advance.

not to worry about cable color, all same function ..... buy router with good technical support

I am still using the stock router DLink-615 now even after I upgraded to 30Mbps from 5Mbps.

Using Wifi, I still can get 30++Mbps using speedtest.net and 5++ Mbps upload from 3-5 meters from the router. If I go upstairs, I can get only 15-20Mbps.

Thinking of extending the range and Wifi speed in the house. Thinking of getting Archer C7. Who is using Archer C7 now and your review please....

if you got budget rm400 ++ for archer 7 for extending wifi .. why dont you upgrade existing router to asus rt ac 55uhp

price below rm 500... rt n 56 u/ rt n18u below rm400

if you still want access point/repeater https://www.ubnt.com/unifi/unifi-ap-ac-lite/ rm 450+-

5GHz had smaller coverage especially when penetrating wall in between floors. You will need a repeater.

I used to have very low signal on my ground floor ( modem and router and 1st floor)
30mbps could only get around 18mbps @ ground floor.

After I change to asus ac66u. I am getting solid 30mbps at ground floor.

That's better for you. For mine upstairs can only get around 10 Mbps.

Just got Archer C7 yesterday. Wireless speed much better now. 5 GHz lower signal upstairs. Got a Range Extender before but don't think it works for 5 GHz. So far only my iPad and Note 4 can use 5 GHz.

My speedtest after Archer C7. Before this can only get max around 7-10 mbps.

I have been using asus rt56u from day one for unifi 30mbps (upload :5mbps)
Approximately 8 months now..

From scale 1(easiest)- 10(hardest)

Setup : 1
Hyptv setup : 2
Router gui : 2
Price : 5 (rm375 at lowyat)
Uptime : 100% (never off my router even since)

Edit: im living in a small apartment 836sq. Which is quite small and from my point of view, utilising 100% the capabilty of this router in terms of coverage, speed and interference..

if u don't mind TPLink and no need much features like VPN Server

WR1043ND/WDR3600/WDR4300

if u think TPLink is crap and want ASUS

i like ASUS RTAC56U...but this one already discontinue.RTN18U/RTAC1200HP/RTN14UHP are not bad either

anyway i don't spend too much on router but invest more in dedicated access point like Apple Extreme....more than 1 year i don't even restart that AP.
