It is just a trial and error process for me. I just look at all the recommendations by the different investment bankers and look at the highest and lowest price for the particular stock for the past 52 weeks. I also try to understand the business model of the stock in general.

This is how I try to find the so called safety margin, i.e. buy at the 'right price'. A combination of defensive stocks and not many cyclical stocks in my portfolio.

Keeping my fingers crossed.

P/S: Analysing the audited account in detail is beyond me.

I still have a lot to learn.

I only know the basics of stock measurements such as PE ratio, EPS, ROE, NTA, Dividend Yield, etc.

But share trading seems to be a dangerous game. I just found this morning that my trading limit is now X2 of my gross share investment. So in practice, I can actually buy shares with money that I don't have. This is a totally different ball game from FSM unit trust.
