Hi Everyone!!
Att: Bros iskazulka Iwliam JamesBotak kiien_kyan Re FC, IMHO there's NO fixed value... Too many variables involved!! Unless it's measured under test conditions & @controlled constant speeds... Pls refer to User Manual/official sources for such values... As a rough guide & fr my own experience...in a 1.3L 4AT Auto... Pls expect approx. : 10Km/L & below for City or mixed driving... ( i hv got as low as only 5Km/L in purely City drives! Above 10 Km/L for Hiway driving @90 - 110Kmh... NOTE. Gen. knowledge : Gagas esp pre CVTs hv never been bought for their great FCs!! Hi Everyone!
ATTENTION :.. . esp to Bros iskazulka wankel TitanRev Quazacolt davidke20 Juz 1 Q... All Gaga owners/users...esp those who hv oledi replaced their Gaga Timing Belts... Can the Timing Belt cover (black colour one) be taken off by juz removing the 3 small bolts holding it to the cyl head? I mean some ppl hv said that the engine support bracket nxt 2it must b loosened/released FIRST B4 the lower bolt can b removed (upper 2 screws no prob)... All info/suggestions wld b most appreciated. Why do i ask? To enable a visual check on condition of Timing Belt... Tqvm in adv. NB. Those who hv witnessed or even better, removed that cover himself... QUOTE(wankel @ Jul 15 2016, 07:46 PM) I haven't changed Daisy's timing belt yet but it's normal to have to remove the crankshaft pulley, be aware that the bolt holding that on is always a real tight bugger, if you lack tools then what works for most cars is to put a strong socket or ring spanner on the nut then wedge it against something solid like a crossmember and give the starter a quick hit, that usually frees it, and usually the crank pulley slides off fairly easily. You'll have to take the lower part of the plastic belt cover off as well then. Hi Bro... I think you'll also have to support the engine while the engine mount is off for installation. On our twin cams it may be very advisable to lock the cams in place, I've made a simple tool out of a bent piece of steel to do that but I haven't had a chance to test it yet. Golden rule of thumb for tension is to be able to twist the belt 90 degrees by hand at a long stretch such as between the crank and exhaust sprockets, but I can't promise that'll be right for the Campro. Changing belts is usually a fairly simple job but because most Aussies are petrified at the though of doing it shops use it as a cash cow by charging a fortune, thus many people wait until the belt snaps, not a sensible option in an interference engine. edit: A real cheapskate trick for tightening the crank bolt again is to lower the engine/car onto a jackstand with a shaped block that'll fit the outside of the pully and not damage it, then you'll be able to tighten the bolt OK. Me not gonna DIY Belt change... Juz wanna remove upper cover 2chk on belt condition cos my Saga is @a very low mileage only...38+k Km after 5 yrs ownership!! The lower RHS 8mm bolt appears 2b partially blocked by engine mount bracket assy... Can that long(?) bolt be removed as is? Tqvm in adv. |

Tks a whole lot 4yr optimistic & reassuring comments!! Yu hv juz given me enuf confidence 2hang on2 present ori Belt 4some time longer... There are signs & symptoms of a problematic belt... However, cld not apply those tests ( eg fluctuations of timing marks?) except for visual inspection of condition... Hv a gr8 Wkend & tks agin!! |

I changed the middle one with a 8mm head for one with a 10 mm head so I didn't have to change spanners to do the job. Tks a meg 4abv confirmation!! 2day me tried 2get that hinged type of socket wrench. However needed an 8 & 10mm pc but found only 1pc of wrong size...10 & 12 mm pc...@ Mr DIY outlet... QUOTE(ericmaxman @ Jul 17 2016, 06:41 PM) Meanwhile Australian models get traction control, foot blower, front demister and a heater Hi Bro... Wonderful stripped down model for Malaysians Wow! It's gr8 2see yu agin!! Ya lo... We get the worst of our very own Msian car & even paying a high price 4it!! My relatives down under asked me @time me got my FL how much me paid 4it... And guess wat? He told me the S16 was only AUD 16k there!! And that was CBU plus all those features we dun get here!! And...conversion rate was then only <RM3 to AUD 1... There was a time when citizens were angry why Msians were "subsidising" own built cars 4sale overseas? For attention of Bro wankel... This post has been edited by zeone: Jul 17 2016, 09:01 PM |

QUOTE(wankel @ Jul 17 2016, 09:29 PM) Daisy cost me AU$12.990 drive away with 6 months rego, no extra costs, what was also lovely was a dealership that put no pressure on me for useless extras which sadly many do. Fyi me paid almost RM43k (compared 2yr AUD13k or RM39k converted @AUD1=RM3 even!!) for my FL WITHOUT ABS..EBD...TRACTION CTRL..PANEL LIGHTS DIMMER....etc !! What's nice is it never feels like it's the cheapest car on the road. Daisy even has leather seats. And with ONLY FABRIC SEATS!! And yu had yrs shipped thousandsof Km overseas...mine was transported locally a few hundred Km only!! This post has been edited by zeone: Jul 17 2016, 10:08 PM |

QUOTE(ericmaxman @ Jul 18 2016, 03:53 PM) Bezza? Who needs Proton? Hi agin, Bro... ASEAN NCAP crash test result have put the Bezza higher ranking than the Iriz/Preve already. Just a few points behind the Honda Jazz. Even Child Occupant Protection is way ahead of Proton. Perodua may have just succeeded with its first-ever sedan. Which make did yu think I reli meant by "uknowat"?? Hahaha... |

QUOTE(wankel @ Jul 18 2016, 04:15 PM) Plus Daisy would have been road freighted further as well, at least 1300 km if it landed in Brisbane or much further if it landed as is quite likely at a more southern port. Hi agin, Bro... I like the reversing sensor too, it only intrudes if there's an issue. Nice of Malaysia to send such nice models to our market, a real shame in many ways that they've been unwanted, and sadly a lot of that can be put down to prejudice or fear of anything non-mainstream, meanwhile I have to read about issues that the "better" brands have all the time whilst continuing to have a reliable Daisy. If only Proton had sold EXACTLY the same S16 here...with same features & qualty of pre-delivery services as those cars it exports overseas... AND....at the same prices..even after conversion...minus all the xtra expenses eg shipping..insurance, etc Proton wld hv sold much much more cars locally & survived!! Unfortunately.... QUOTE(wankel @ Jul 19 2016, 12:15 PM) You won't need a new seal, it only seals dust out, no big deal. Hi Bro wankel.... Open end spanners are the tool of the devil unless a fastener isn't very tight but ever since the British car industry vanished into a sea of its own oil leaks car makers always make sure fasteners are torqued up good and tight. It's alwaz a pleasure & educational 2read yr comments in here... Besides Bro iskazulka who has been practically holding this fort up 4quite some time oledi... Tks 2dedicated ppl in this forum...it still lives!! Fyi (and Bro iskazulka )... I hv finally got 2pcs of the Ori seal for the timing belt cover...seems 2 pcs are needed? Even the shop fella told me so! Haha! As yu hv said, there's (usually?) no need 4their replacements... However me hv noticed cracks along the upper side of the existing seal. So..as a kinda pessimistic guy, me feel safer with spares in hand b4 attempting removal. Anyway they dun cost much...got them fr a spare parts shop for only RM9 /pc...abt AUD3? Btw me hv also a 3rd party transparent cover...may replace with that if no probs encountered. Will update here if cld do so... Hv a nice evening!! Cheers!!
