I tried applying other companies but no replies.

Didnt want to go into audit firms anymore.

Want to do accounts instead.

Beggars can't be choosers, as the saying goes.
Are you a qualified accountant ie SG CA? If so, you probably have a better chance of securing a job.

That is the problem I never think off when my boss transferred the money to me.

My boss went back overseas and put me in charge of all payment settlement as I am his accounting staff. So he just use his internet banking and transferred the money into my account. So while he is in overseas, I have to make all the payment on behalf including worker wages from my savings account.

As he is in overseas for a long time, he would not be able to sign any cheque and pass it to me. Hence the burden fall to me as he prefer to be in overseas.

I did tabulate the spreadsheet to monitor the movement of the cash flow in case there is any doubts as money is a pretty sensitive thing.

But sigh.....I doubt the bank will agree to give me a chance to explain. And I am not sure whether I am going to be blacklisted.

Thanks anyway.

Yes, it does appear that you were flagged as a possible money launderer.
There's some good news though - not likely that you're on any widely available sanction list, most likely just in that particular bank's only.

If the bank filed an STR (suspicious transaction report) to MAS, you might (very remote though i believe) that MAS might come and ask you to minum kopi. But don't sweat it lah. I think.

SG has a thriving financial industry, so they memang a tad anal when it comes to these sort of thing - they gotta show that they are serious about regulations yada yada, competitive advantage mah. Scared HK will overtake them.

hotpie73 I guess most Malaysians who apply PR don't bother translating their birth cert because most of the time ICA accepts our Malay language cert.

Keyword being "most of the time," because I vaguely remember got once or twice in earlier versions of this thread that some ppl complained that their ICA agent didn't accept, and told them to go get translation.

Again, wanna ask if there is a generally accepted 'minimum' period in SG before applying?

Singapore is a decent place to retire if you have the $.
Then again, having said that, EVERYWHERE is a good place to retire if you're loaded and can live like an elite lol.

and methinks vintage cars can own lah, but needs special license.

To own a car in singapore is not that bad actually, it really depends on you commitment and disposable income.
*
To me, car ownership isn't and shouldn't be an issue lah.
I can afford a car in SG, a rather fancy one too if I so wish but I feel no need or inclination to. Granted, I've only been here for a little while but am much more inclined to get myself a nice bicycle instead.
At any rate, taking the MRT and walking everywhere is doing wonders for my weight.

I think to each his own bah. You can seek opinions but ultimately the choice is your own.

Whole unit should be around $2,300

Closer to 2.5 for a three bedder HDB.
International Plaza upstairs also got rooms, studio costs slightly more, if non HDB is your thing.
Got some rather atas places around too, but from my limited experience weekends @ Tanjong Pagar = surreal 'ghost' town lol

Sometimes can't don't look at money now. Especially in Malaysia. 3.5k ain't a lot now haha... If a car is a must and has to pay rental then 3.5k probably just right without much savings doh.gif That can't be said for 2.5k in SG. Still can live a moderate life without starving or going extreme to save on food. Can still make quite a big sum of savings.
*
I'll attest to that. I basically supercharged my KL lifestyle, keep half my pay for the missus back home and still have a fair bit left of luxuries. In all I'd probably say 1/4 goes for living expenses, 1/2 for the missus/savings and the rest just sits there waiting for me to find something stupid and unnecessary to spend it on. Caveat though - I'm no spring chicken like most of you guys and the clubbing life's probably about 5 years or so behind me. Heard that that can be expensive.

edit: I also don't drive in SG, unlike in Malaysia. Don't miss driving, and enjoy not having to pay for petrol lol.

I'd err on the side of caution and find another place to stay really. It is a fine city after all lol.

Not married?
The account is under her name, and comes with an atm card that she can use here when she comes to check on me every fortnight lol.
