Think that the choice is pretty straightforward. Also, you are planning to start a family so young? How come?

if money is my ONLY concern then for sure i will go for the new opportunity. but when i think of organisation structure/system etc, still the current one is the best.

Though I think you are in your comfort zone in your first job, a change in environment would be important as well, money will definitely follow suit. All the best in your decision.

Haha my POV is it's still a bit young, I got my first house last year when I was 25, now looking at investment property end of this year. Marriage for me probably is in the 29/30.

i was average but i got good score in SPM and i was lucky enough to be one of the very few chineses to get enrolled in matrikulasi.
course itself is not hard. the real hard course would be engineering/architect.

the hard part is to dealing with external exams while lecturers are throwing you alot of useless assignments at the same time to delay your exam progress.
definitely would recommend people to take actuarial course in UK/US instead of local.

Are you going for fellowship? Heard it is very hard? Is it normal for associates to earn 7.8k per month. Very impressed considering your age.

BTW, since you got into Matrikulasi, which local uni did you end of going? I think your local degree earns much more than those with overseas degree (non-actuarial). Cheap and effective. thumbsup.gif

yes i am going for fellowship and yes it is very hard. actually my earning is above average. many companies are with lower exam/annual/performance increment. typical earning for my exam progress and experience could range from 5k~8k depending on company. it is a big range

haha yes indeed. professional course in local uni = very cheap and effective, high ROI in term of financial, unless you have sponsor to oversea. i only spent less than 10k total in paying uni tuition fee.
but still, i think i will send my kid to oversea if i could afford to. local uni the lecturer standard....really speechless doh.gif many of them have no industry experience because they have difficulties finding a job when they first graduated.

sorry i want to hide my identity here, so could not reveal my uni tongue.gif

From what you described, I guess you are currently working at a foreign bank. The offer from the local bank is not particularly attractive, just around 6k for a manager. Career progression in local bank is pretty slow and you need to jump ship to progress further normally.

If I were you, I would stay in the current company for a couple years more and only leave when you receive a much better offer.
