Still not safe yet even we top of the group. Next match must win or at least draw no matter what against Porto at home. Kiev beat Macabi and we lose terus out of UCL.

Still need to win our final game to ensure top spot. Need a draw to qualify. Kiev most likely to qualify from the group. Can't see them lose vs mccabi.

Terry injured.... If you see the picture in the website link below, sad cry.gif

Costa unhappy after being talked into by Mou hmm.gif

Last but not least, clean sheet and a win to boost our players confidence flex.gif

Maccabi Tel Aviv 0 Chelsea 4: Blues claim crucial win but John Terry injury poses problem for Jose Mourinho

Chelsea's first away win for over two months was overshadowed as captain John Terry was carried off on a stretcher in Haifa tonight.

Jose Mourinho's side secured an unconvincing victory, despite the size of the scoreline, in the Champions League over Maccabi Tel Aviv, who were down to 10 men for over 45 minutes.

Due to Dynamo Kiev's surprise 2-0 victory over Porto, Chelsea's place in the last 16 is still not assured and will be decided when they face the latter at home on December 9.

Whether Terry will be fit to face them then or Tottenham on Sunday for that matter, is uncertain.

The 34-year-old defender appeared to land awkwardly on a woeful pitch at the Sammy Ofer stadium and instantly collapsed to the surface in agony.

Some of his Chelsea team-mates gathered around him anxiously and after a brief spell of treatment, the skipper was taken straight down the tunnel and Kurt Zouma took his place.

It was the last thing Mourinho needs right now just as Chelsea are showing signs of turning results, if not performances, around.

This was their second clean sheet in a row, although they were fortunate Dor Peretz headed over from six yards in the opening exchanges, while Asmir Begovic made saves from Eli Dasa and Eran Zahavi after the break when the score was still just 1-0.

Chelsea's lacklustre display was partly due to the playing surface, which cut up throughout. Mourinho even took to repairing some of the divots during one break of play.

It took Gary Cahill to settle some their nerves in the 20th minute. His initial header from Willian's corner was well saved by Predrag Rajkovic, but the England international scored from the rebound.

The evening should have been more comfortable when Tal Ben Haim, the former Chelsea defender, kicked out at Diego Costa in the 41st minute and was given a straight red card by Undiano Mallenco.

But Chelsea, who have won just two away games all season, were sloppy for a long period after the break and gave Maccabi hope of a comeback.

It took set piece master Willian to end their hopes, cooly curling in his sixth goal and free kick of the season just two minutes after Terry went off.

Chelsea then made the scoreline far more flattering for them than their display merited by adding two more from Oscar and Zouma.

But the lack of happiness in the Chelsea camp was exposed when Costa just stormed off at the final whistle, without waiting for his team-mates or acknowledging manager Jose Mourinho.

Chelsea will now wait anxiously for news on Terry's injury. Even when they win, the club still seem to have deal with bad news.

The team played like shit this morning....

Costa is useless... it's like we are without striker upfront... did not do enough to justify his place in the first XI.

Hazard at it again.... just when u thought he regained his confidence vs Norwich... his lazy self and unmotivated Hazard kicks in... Just what happened to him?

Willian performance is poor too despite scoring a goal from free kick.

Oscar is poor... poor touches, poor passes... but at least he is willing to attack the penalty box... unlike Costa... just facepalm...

Terry is useless... Just another player to fill in the first eleven slot... almost invisible the whole game... until he is injured... then only realise that he is in the field... Clearly he is fatigue and cannot play 2 games in 1 week...

Baba shaky... still not convincing... but manage to make some clean tackle... need time and more experience...

Dave is solid... wasted that he didn't score... credit to the keeper for an excellent save...

Matic... OK game... not his best...

Cesc... poor game... but he did string some nice passes that leads to goal...

Cahill is good... does a lot of running and shutting down players....

Begovic... saves the day

Zouma... too little time to assess

Pedro... did little to help the team

Remy... too little time to assess

Anyone know who is this Hector guy? He appears to be defender and is loaned to Reading, and we want to recall him back in January. Is he better defender than the ones we have playing? hmm.gif

Reading executive confirms Chelsea want to recall loanee in January

By Fellipe Miranda  @Brazfoot on Nov 22, 2015, 9:41p

Yesterday against Norwich City, Chelsea managed to get a rare (for this season, anyway) clean sheet. But, in truth, the Blues' defensive unit wasn't tested until the end of the match, when Norwich City were finally motivated to get a goal. Chelsea completely dominated possession for most of the match until then.

Regardless, our defensive frailties have been front and center all season, with 23 conceded in just 13 league matches. While it seems a given that the club will move for John Stones at some point, it would appear that José Mourinho wants to add more immediate options to his defence, looking to recall on-loan defender Michael Hector, according to Reading executive Samrit Thanakanchanasut:

"Chelsea want [Michael Hector] back early but I think we'll retain him as we agreed until the end of the season."

-Samrit Thanakanchanasut; Source: Goal

Hector was acquired by Chelsea on the last day of the summer transfer window from Reading, but was loaned back to the Royals until the end of the season. He's taken part in 14 games so far in the Championship, giving solid, if unspectacular performances at centre-back as Reading hope to achieve promotion back to the Premier League.

At the moment, Chelsea's first-team squad have 5 players who can play as centre-back. With one of them actually our first-choice right back and another linked to a Besiktas move after not seeing the pitch for more than a minute in all competitions, it would make sense to have Hector at Stamford Bridge to fill the gap and maybe play a more significant part in the team.

Chelsea looking to buy Borussia Dortmund striker — reports
By Fellipe Miranda and David Pasztor on Nov 22, 2015, 5:58p

Chelsea's win against Norwich City yesterday showed that the team can still create create a lot of good opportunities to score, but they still seem to lack a good presence in the box since Diego Costa's drop in form. As part of our supposed attempts to fix this problem, at least according to The Sun, Chelsea have added Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to the short list of potential transfer targets. Obviously, this isn't exactly the greatest source, but PEA would be a great signing for just about any team in the world, so in that sense, it isn't such a far-fetched rumor.

Aubameyang has been topping the Bundesliga goalscoring charts this season, having scored 15 goals in 13 matches in the German league. The Sun claims Chelsea are weighing up on making a £20 million bid for the Gabonese player, even though reports from Germany claim Dortmund aren't willing to let go of him for at least £42 million. Still cheaper than Griezmann's release clause!

Having someone as versatile as Aubameyang, who can use his amazing speed to score from either wing or his good strength and aerial ability to lead the line centrally, would be a great addition to Chelsea to complement, or supplement, Diego Costa and our attacking midfielders. Still, it doesn't seem likely that Chelsea will be making impactful moves in the next transfer window, so the chances of us getting someone as good and expensive as Aubameyang should be very slim. It should also be noted that the last time the striker was quizzed on a potential move, he made it very clear he preferred Spain as his next destination after Dortmund.

"After that [recently signed new] contract I have this dream to play in Spain. I hope that will happen but when? I don't know."

"Lots of people think that the Premier League would good for me but my mum is Spanish and I really have that dream to play over there. After that maybe one day the Premier League but for the moment I aim to one day play in Spain."

-Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang; source: BBC

Ramires and Terry both out of our next match against Spurs, Terry for sure, Ramires doubtful sad.gif

Two key Chelsea players now 'doubtful' for Sunday's Spurs clash thanks to terrible pitch in Israel
By David Pasztor  @D_Peezy on Nov 24, 2015, 10:29p

We all saw John Terry get injured in Tuesday night's Champions League group stage match against Maccabi Tel-Aviv, challenging for the ball with one of the defenders only to come off worse. Even on replay there didn't seem to be too much egregious contact, which would then explain why Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho blamed the injury on the pitch.

Chelsea FC ✔ @ChelseaFC
Jose reports Ramires was injured in training yesterday and JT now has an ankle injury, both he thinks caused by the bad pitch. #CFC
6:07 AM - 25 Nov 2015

Tel-Aviv's home stadium was not the venue for this match, just as it hadn't been for their previous two home games in the group. Instead, it was at a stadium in Haifa, which also serves as a home base for the Israeli national team and a couple other local teams. On first glance, the turf looked in decent condition, but was cutting up very badly even just a few minutes into the game; at one point, Mourinho himself walked out onto the pitch to replace a massive divot.

While the exact extent of either injury is known at this time, Mourinho's not counting with his captain. And while Ramires, who was not in the matchday squad today due to that injury, may not have been a locked-on starter for Sunday, he does tend to play in tough away match-ups, where his indefatigable running and hassling can be crucial to a positive result.

Chelsea FC ✔ @ChelseaFC
Jose says for Terry to leave the pitch with the score just 1-0 means he expects the injury is too bad for him to play at Spurs. #CFC

"Jose Mourinho and Diego Costa screaming at each other as teams retired at break, the manager complaining at forward's lack of anticipation."

Quoting a Chelsea fan on Reddit - "Around the 70th minute last match against Norwich Pedro and Costa had an argument about it, Pedro had several goes at Costa about this during the Norwich game.

Can't remember what minute the first one was, but he was gesturing at Costa and telling him where to make a run. Later the ball gets cut across the face of goal from the right (willian if I remember correctly) and Costa is hanging back instead of running in, and Pedro holds his head in his hands and then you can see him say something to Costa again.

Around the 70th minute the ball goes into the box from the left, Costa doesn't make a run, Pedro makes a run towards the back / centre of goal.
He tells Costa off and points at the near post run, they both start mouthing off about it and in the end Costa waves him off and points outside the box. As Pedro is supposed to be outside the box for the corner, being a smart ass I guess as in pointing out 'your not in your position for this either'."

It seems the real rift in the dressing room is between Jose and Costa. Rumours of Chelsea trying to get a big name striker in January might not be far off then.

i dunno what's wrong with costa
he seems like losing his appetite to score goal
always drift wide n when teammate place a cross, he always like dun want to receive the cross..he like want the ball to come directly to him

n he more interested in getting penalty than scoring

could it be he is already homesick? hmm.gif

cuz Mou instructed him to create a specific movement inside the box, but he just ignored that.
