QUOTE(zher4883 @ Nov 2 2015, 10:43 AM) that is 1k rite?QUOTE(Makavelic @ Nov 2 2015, 10:49 AM) Not only wifi, even on LAN the maximum speed is 24mbps. Called TM, they said okay mah, at least reaches the minimum expectation. unifi 30?pnb QUOTE(zher4883 @ Nov 2 2015, 11:04 AM) Stock router is just a piece of shit man. Just use custom router with an okay processor to get most out of your package. n12hp enough?QUOTE(lebHaF @ Nov 2 2015, 11:05 AM) Anyone can help ? Im using Asus RT-N12 D1. sucessfully upgraded to unifi advance 30 today. After I reset the modem, I've been getting speeds of 30mbps at speedtest. The weird thing is when I enable QOS and enter 5 and 30 as my upload and download speed, my speedtest for both speedtest.net and tm speedtest shows a capped 10-11mbps only. If I disable the qos I will be getting full speed. let me try when im at home.QUOTE(bryanyz @ Nov 2 2015, 11:06 AM) QUOTE(XyDi @ Nov 2 2015, 11:10 AM) If ur not satisfied with the service or the speed is slow call the contractor first because for 30days after installation everything is under contractor warranty. If the contractor unable to solve your problem then u need to call tm & get TM technician to come & check. I had the same problem initially but once contractor came, everything was smooth. but problem is lan / wifi on laptop can get 50mbps on speedtest, but not on the app. |

QUOTE(wcypierre @ Nov 2 2015, 03:46 PM) That is when it is out would like to point out one of keypoints that being mentioned by fellow forumers here earlier on, that wifi interference would affect the speed. If you launch wifi analyzer app, you can see how many wifi connections intersects to each other, and you have no option to change channel as well, even N12HP only allows till channel 11, so the golden question now is which router is the cheapest that provides channel broadcast that more than 11, as well as to broadcast 5GHz? I think this might solve the mystery.5ghz is better because devices nowadays have support for 5ghz |

QUOTE(wcypierre @ Nov 2 2015, 04:03 PM) I get that. There is channel 12 and 13, but one thing with that is compatibility. Some devices(iPhone in particular) don't recognise channel 12 and 13 because of the regulation, so you end up with some people unable to connect when they come to your house and that may not be a good choice. yes, we should rectify the real issue, as not everyone able to afford rm1k router, so the best bet is still what would be the lowest / or what are the best resolutions we can make it from stock / n12hp / or any affordable router range. and still, the golden nugget question is how do we minimize wifi interference? |

QUOTE(SSJBen @ Nov 4 2015, 04:01 PM) Haven't really used OpenDNS for a very long time. Good to hear that though. Now a days I have different DNS setup for all my devices. My PCs usually on a paid DNS (SmartyDNS to be exact), my consoles are using TM's default DNS (again, this is because PS3/PS4/Vita download/uploads fastest with it), my mobile devices usually Google DNS. 6.2MB/s excluding overhead, more or less. QUOTE(Yluxion @ Nov 4 2015, 04:06 PM) thanks. means something is really not right at my end, I got 2.3MB/s so far but my speedtest got 52Mbps on LAN, previous VIP20 user though. Lodged a report at 100, they said something is not right for download at my port. Now I get 50Mbps on speedtest, but 1.5MB/s on direct download. |

QUOTE(xHj09 @ Nov 6 2015, 03:00 PM) only few hours. iinm at 10-11am. wasn't home. came back to test and got this. the can check or update internally via their backend, if that doesn't solve, the might need ask their team to go your housing area port to adjusti contacted them on twitter already. restarted router for few times. they did a reset for me as well. still the same. is checking port same as internal refresh? |

For those who've upgraded to Unifi 30/50, from VIP20 especially, please beware, as when did installer came over, and did a speedtest, it hits 50Mbps, and everything's A-OK according to them, but when I did my download both direct / torrent, it stuck at VIP20 speeds. So my instinct was right, to voice out at 100, they realized that's something is wrong with my download port, but upload port were OK, they've configured and my speed were reduced to 10Mbps, feedback to them again, they've said they've no choice to send team over to configure the port. Few days after, received a call from the technician, to cross check, now it hit 7MB/s. Strange enough. Even it ended some argument with the technician, whereas his definition of 50Mbps, the speed is all highly related with the server speed. If the server speed is slow, then you will get slower speed. And the main gauge for speed results, will only speedtest.net. Sigh

QUOTE(WaCKy-Angel @ Nov 8 2015, 10:29 AM) I'm not too sure as well, I think it's case to case basis as well. from morning till now, there's still hiccups for certain video but for most of it, its flawless. My assumption would be, it really depends on the area, the CDN that the video hosted, location, in terms congestions of users and time, as well as DNS being used. Would like to highlight on some previous forumers experience on bad loading pages on FB, Insta, if using TM DNS, I can assure it's happening. For YouTube, most likely TM DNS is working perfectly fine? I used to have a very bad experience with YouTube during peak hours during my VIP20 days, guess it's a mixture of a lot complaints and test, which brings the smooth experience, but no one knows how long this gonna last. |
