hi guys, mind helping me out? i have a rm150 budget for a power supply. i wanna upgrade my rig and i doubt the "fortune science sdn bhd" brand 420w psu will be enough. i've done the calculations on the psu calculator site, and it says i need roughly 302w. while the stock psu, with let's say 70%, will only provide 294w. correct me if im wrong, im a real noobie in this area. what psu do u guys recommend?

my cheap rig is (after upgrade):
e5200 overclocked to 3.0ghz on standard 1.2v and stock hsf
320gb hitachi sata hdd (i have no idea why they gave me hitachi instead of wd, seagate etc)
Galaxy 9600GT 512mb ddr3
ECS elitegroup g31 mobo
kingston 1x2gb ddr2 800mhz ram
LG 22x dvd burner

currently im looking at:
Vantec ION2+ 450w true power at rm150 (cheap and looks cool too with the blue sleeves)
Huntkey greenstar 550 at rm 145
Silverstone ST400 at rm160
AcBel E2 510 at rm189 (a bit expensive but people recommend)
Cooler master extreme power 500 at rm155
Gigabyte superb 550 at rm170
2ndhand cooler master extreme power 460 at rm70
2ndhand cooler master extreme power 550 at rm100

my current psu only has 18A on 12V, and i dont think it's dual rail. cos only one value printed.

any suggestions? thanks in advance! wink.gif

In that case, it would be just ngam ngam only... Suggested to take the ST56F instead.

hmm ic ic thanks, actually that's my current system, I'll probably try on my ST50F first and see if it's stable, if not will probably take up my friend offer on his Thermaltake Toughpower 750W PSU which should be more than enough for the GTX260 biggrin.gif

Monitoring software usually inaccurate, you need to use DMM (digital multimeter) to measure it properly. Don't worry, as long as its stable you'll be fine smile.gif
