Manual focus?

How you check focus? How you control the aperture? Just wondering hmm.gif
*
I check the focus thru focus peeking.

Controlling the aperture thru aperture ring on the adapter itself. I got myself an adapter with aperture ring since sigma 10-20mm doesn't have any aperture ring on the lens..
(XCSource A-mount to E-mount adapter)

Was about to ask if Manual focus why don't use the MF Assist hmm.gif

Not just non-native, apparently all non-chipped E-mount lenses are like that, my Samyang included. Not sure if the upcoming Voights are also like that... hopefully they come chipped.

BTW, perspective distortion can make lenses 'seem' wider. I've shot stuff with the 35 from high angles (and extreme low ones) that made people ask what WA lens I used for it lol.

Similarly, using an UWA straight and level often makes it seem... well, less UWA-y due to the lack of perspective distortion...though UWAs usually comes loaded with enough optical distortion for it to tell our brains it's an UWA to begin with (usually anyway).

Here is my 2 cents:

I know having a wide angle lens can make one a little excited. You get the 'just look at how wide this can get!' feeling. As for the shot, the lamp post in the middle bottom of the frame is a little distracting. If you could have moved it out of the frame it will be better. Remember, the wider the angle, the more careful you have to be. Do not include too many things into your frame that may distract and a wide angle lens can get so many things inside. Sometimes, too many.

user posted imageBotani Park by nuh zuleffendi, on Flickr

Ok shot. Again, be careful of your background. That bush behind the flower (a little on the top left of the flower) is a little distracting. The light falling on it and making it glow among the darkened rest of the background worsened the issue.

user posted imageBotani Park by nuh zuleffendi, on Flickr

Wide angle shot. A little careless also in this one. Your idea was to show the lady looking up at the tree. It's a good story to tell with your pic but you have accidentally cropped off the top of the tree, which is the very thing the person in the pic supposed to be looking at. Also beware of the hanging leaves in the foreground that kind of ruined the tree top.

user posted imageSunrise by nuh zuleffendi, on Flickr

Would have been better if you could have brightened the foreground a little.

user posted imageBunga by nuh zuleffendi, on Flickr

No comment on this one. Quite a normal shot. Nothing special.

I think you can stand a little further or zoomed out a little showing more background and edit the colour to make it more dramatic

Here's one of mine, not sure if you will like it biggrin.gif

I worry about the price and size. laugh.gif
No point if it's gonna cost 8k-10k. I rather get two primes and call it a day

Thanks guys!

I took all these on Boxing Day, basically these stations are only busy during working days, especially Canary Wharf. There's still some people every now and then so I have to wait awhile to get a totally empty shot.

I considered to include people especially for Canary Wharf for some added sense of perspective, but it's not everyday you can get an empty shot of that spot, I can come back anytime for people biggrin.gif
