Bought the Dell 7559 last Sunday (13/12) then only saw this thread today = =
If not can save RM700 buying the DOS version, well at least I got a bag. = = I opt for the i5/4gb/HDD and plan to add the RAM (and maybe SSD if I save enough) in the future.

I read a lot of people waited a long time for the laptop to arrive. May I know how long do I need to wait after I've ordered from Dell website?

I wonder how does the LG panel compare to the MacBook Air 11" TN. That's what I'm upgrading from.

remarks:
1)Default applied thermal compound: Sucks. Prime test will make the cpu temperature to approach 89'C. After apply GC2 temperature dropped to below 80'C

Issit difficult to changed the paste and does it void the warranty? I've changed the paste on the old Dell Vostro 1400 and MBA11 before.

I'm quite surprised that the Dell 7559 actually shut off its fans and can run on passive cooling on low workload. Meaning I only need to clean the dust less regularly.

Dell 7559 owners, any lubang to get a better wifi m2 card? (intel 7260/8260)
Seen some reviews saying that the wifi can be problematic
*
Most of the review also stated that the firmware update will fix the Wifi problem. Unless you do a lot of transfer and requires it to be really high speed AC mode, I don't see the reason to replace it for casual use.

With that speed and that currency, by all means upgrade it. Do some benchmark while you're at it. Quite interested what's the difference.

Should I get the future slim XPS15 with 1050Ti or Alienware 13 R3 with 1060
good times for gaming laptop, too bad for poor currency.

I really hope Dell puts 1050Ti into their XPS and Inspiron line, I don't see that happening. From the charts by @ytlay the 1050 isn't much of an upgrade for 960M users like me.

I'll look at Lenovo Y520 and Acer V Nitro 15 with 1050Ti to see how they perform.

Edit: Okay Dell will put 1050Ti into their Inspiron but they look fugly wei.

Dell has been busy clearing their stocks for the past few months. I think they will push out the new laptops with 1050/1050Ti soon after they are announced. Heck I even saw ads by Dell showcasing XPS15 with 1050 costing RM6.7k

Dell probably going to price around:
Inspiron 1050 Ti - RM5k
XPS 15 1050 - RM6.7k
AW13 1050 Ti - RM6.5k
AW13 1060 - RM8k
AW15 1070 - RM9.3k

Sad to see that Razer is still the only sleek looking gaming laptop.

I was wrong about the AW13 1060.
It is confirm RM6.6k (with RM388 rebate until 19 Jan) at official Dell site, cheaper than in US at current terrible USD rate.

This made the XPS15 1050 a poor choice unless you really need a bigger screen with full HD in a slightly slimmer package.

You're right, but for a casual gamer looking for sleek laptop, XPS15 used to be one of the choice. Right now the gap between 1050/1060 is too big compared to 960M/970M back then.

Wish they put that 1050Ti into the XPS15, maybe in another 6 months.

I think it is a good buy too @RM4k. 128GB SSD + 500 GB HDD will performs better than last year's 1TB HDD. I think it is separated SSD + HHD, I don't think there's SSHD with 128GB memory out there.

I wonder who will be dumb enough to buy the i5+1050 non-Ti for the same price?

If that's a RM500 mistake at Dell's end, better grab it now!

Dammit. I really wanted to get one because Dell got superior warranty.
But with 49% RGB and 34% Adobe RGB coverage, that screen would be horrendous for my photo editing.
Any idea if can change to aftermarket IPS?
Thanks for sharing.

maybe you can get something compatible from Ebay, but I'm not sure if it's going to void the warranty for the laptop.

Check this out biggrin.gif seems like it has one more slot that you can add another ssd.

Ordered one AW13R3, and plan to use my old mSATA drive which I've used on the Dell 7559. I'll report back if it's workable. There are 2 slots, and both supporting PCIE SSD, not very sure if they work with mSATA. There's a version selling in US that comes with 180GB mSATA, so I'll try and see.

2 options... the right one.
It is funny though if u customized the left one to identical specs, it turns out to be more expensive

Seems like the RM388 rebate has been push back many times. Last few times i checked was 16/1, 26/1, 9/2 and now 16/2. I should be getting mine on 14/2.

I choose AW13 rather than the cheaper Asus/Acer/Lenovo or even the very expensive Razer is mainly because of the warranty and after sales service. My experience with Dell has been good.

I'm just dilemma on the screen size Haha. If not I already go ahead

You're right, 13" IS a bit too small, 1080p is perfect for 17" laptop, 24" desktop.
