remarks:
1)Default applied thermal compound: Sucks. Prime test will make the cpu temperature to approach 89'C. After apply GC2 temperature dropped to below 80'C

Issit difficult to changed the paste and does it void the warranty? I've changed the paste on the old Dell Vostro 1400 and MBA11 before.

Planning to get a XPS15, should i get the i7 or i5 differences only RM400. Anyone using the latest XPS15? its the screen glossy or matte? screen is a big deal for me

Any opinions? looking for a really good reliable laptop that could last me 3-4 years, which my vostro lasted my 5 years now biggrin.gif

XPS15 or Acer Nitro v15

6699 or 4599 (2k diff)

1.8kg or 2.4kg

slimmer or fatter

metal frame or plastic frame

easily upgradable or not so (from video review what i saw)

worth the 2k? anyone know if upgrading XPS15 like ssd would it void the warranty?

Hi all, is 960M GPU good enough for most of the games out there and can withstand maybe 3-5 years? Budget constraint and most probably less playing high graphic demanding game like Witcher 3, Fallout 4 etc.

Tbh 960m cant really handle witcher 3 on medium settings. Unless youre fine with less than 30fps most of the time.

M15EV with std wattage i5 Q'core & fast GDDR5 Vram run faster than VN7-572G/X751LX with low wattage dual core u & slow DDR3 vram. X751LX is HD screen.

U can also consider Inspiron 7559 with faster GTX960m and good onsite warranty.

Cool have u gotten the sexy XPS 15 yet?
If diff only RM400 I will get i7 though i5 may suffix depending on your intended usage
Personally I prefer matte screen despite cranking up the brightness could reduce glare for glossy screen
Metal frame definitely better at heat dissipation, esp. if got non-U proc and discrete GPU
2k is about 43% on top of Nitro which about 69% of XPS. Just get the model u like since the base price already not so cheap hmm.gif

ive check prices, Nitro going for 4.2k now as for XPS someone in garage could get me around 6.5k and now the difference is RM2.3k bleh... so much better on XPS but the price its abit steep 2.3k i could get another ultrabook which light enough for me to bring around to travel. I thought well yea 1 laptop for all

sigh i dunno, still thinking i got time tho.. lets wait abit i guess
