QUOTE(celdric @ Jan 3 2016, 06:05 PM) May I know why is it so? What if I am planning to use it 4-5 years? Thanks Coz gtx970m more future proof then 960. Skylake only useful for battery life and if u are into gaming, it didnt give much significant in performance. Right now the best bang buck for gtx960 is dell 7559 and for gtx970 is illegear z5.

QUOTE(celdric @ Jan 3 2016, 06:05 PM) May I know why is it so? What if I am planning to use it 4-5 years? Thanks The gtx 970m is way better performer then the gtx 960m and can last you longer especially in gaming. The benefits of skylake is only consume less power and the i7 has hyperthreading as well. Gaming laptops wont last 4-5 years especially when you are into the latest games.

Hi,
Hope I'm posting into the right thread. I'd like to know whether anyone had an experience with the new Acer v15 nitro (skylake with GTX960m). I liked that laptop's design but I'm a bit concerned about thermals especially that I wanna keep it for quite long...
Any thoughts plz.? Don't wanna regret my decision...

Hi, Acer VNitro got quite a good review around the internet. They got the coolBoost/dustDefender technology, although I not sure how it works. And among other entry level gaming laptop, VNitro got plus point on the USB Type C and M.2 PCIe slot available. You can check thewirecutter review here as well. http://thewirecutter.com/reviews/the-best-...g-laptop-so-far

Cyberforge G15, Acer Nitro V15, Dell inspiron 7559 and illegear Z5 Which one is the preferred model here? Looking for a laptop with above average battery, matte screen if possible (dell 7559 ), 2 HDD setup (m.2 + normal sata). This post has been edited by Kyl3: Jan 7 2016, 11:44 AM

By looking at the spec sheet as listed in the front page of this thread, Acer don't have matte screen, battery life is quite subjective depend on your usage and graphic card that you want actually. I think all of them are come with two storage slot. You prefer DOS? And price range? This post has been edited by celdric: Jan 7 2016, 11:55 AM

DOS, trying to keep the price low as I have other commitments and I have a copy of W10 waiting to get activated.
Dell 7559 seems like the best choice here for me but I will still need to top up like 300-400 for a SSD, while the rest are ranging 4.5k ish
How is the 6300hq vs the 6700hq? Mainly is for browsing, media consumption, and gaming. Not gonna do heavy rendering jobs, at most will be some Lightroom and Photoshop.
+bit of background with my current setup Am a desktop guy but due to the need of relocation, I have to downsize to a laptop. Currently using i5-4570 and a GTX970 in my PC.

You can see GPU comparison here, http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i7-6700...-Core-i5-6300HQ i7 of course better than i5. DOS 7559 would be much cheaper if you read through this thread. With DOS 7559, and top up SSD your own the price should be cheaper than other brand as well, I guess. Only Dell and Acer I think can get below 4k with the lowest spec of the series. Yes, dell official web only sell with Window but GS do sell with DOS. What is the problem to use legit OS on DOS 7559? I dont see the issue.

Sorry, but what does GS mean? And also, I want to know, is there two versions of 7559? one with hybrid hdd + ssd, the other one with just regular hdd. If I buy the one with just regular hdd, can I addon ssd myself later on? Or do they have different disc drive docks?

Hybrid HDD and regular HDD is using 2.5" bay SSD is using M.2 slot. As long as your M2 slot is empty, you can add SSD anytime

Hi, is there anyone here have experienced laptop return to dell? When i read dell return policy, it stated if within 14days, i can return the products to dell. Have anyone here done that?
Want to try test the Dell 7559 UHD first, if i dont satisfy with it (battery, performance, etc) then i will return and try the i7 FHD. If still dont satisfy i will return for good and buy something else.
/backstory start/ I am using now Acer V Nitro (i7-4710HQ, 12GB ram, 128gb M.2, GTX860m) and because i am quitting my current job in 1 month time, i will need to find another laptop for my new work and personal media+gaming. I already got used to have powerful laptop with slim design and still looks like normal laptop (alienware/msi is too gaming centric design and i hate that design). Subtle design like Lenovo Y40/Y50/Y700, Acer V Nitro, Dell 7559, looks like normal working laptop, then can gaming. This is godly laptop for me.

I heard my friends that work in dell before, is something like they send u wrong product or the product is defective, than u only able to return them

Those service only apply on develop country like states, they can return if not statify. If same policy apply on ASIA country, many "educated" people will miss use. Lets see when Msia citizen can improve on this
