QUOTE(chiahau @ Nov 12 2015, 11:03 AM) Every time red comes out with a new item, Blue will immediately attack with new lineup Blue use to prawn red with their nano tech, they are getting closer as other nano fabs (TSMC, Samsung, GloFo.) is closing the gap while blue ve delayed their tick-tock. And Blue already established a pretty deep stronghole, that's why they can afford to mess around with the red. Thou I have to admit la, Red used to be a much more closer competition compared to nowadays. Gamers are more eager to see how green Pascal vs red Arctic island on new node & microarchitecture. QUOTE(arslow @ Nov 12 2015, 02:34 PM) For me skylake not snake oil as the integrated GPU able to decode HEVC while the 960 can't. Even if it could I wouldn't want to using that just for media. Yeap. And the battery increase with skylake is actually measurable. I've been seeing reviews of refreshed laptops at notebookcheck and can always see a healthy increase once paired with skylake as compared to Haswell it broadwell. 14nm Skylake is more energy efficient, reduces heat/throttling, extend lifespan and battery life vs Hotwell. QUOTE(XeactorZ @ Nov 12 2015, 02:43 PM) Pity consumer end up in blue waiting game and slow advancement. QUOTE(Khyour @ Nov 12 2015, 03:30 PM) Is it safe to order this laptop directly from the Dell Malaysia website? Any issues that I should be aware of? (never ordered laptop online before...) Dont forget to nego with them for more freegift. |

QUOTE(chiahau @ Nov 12 2015, 03:11 PM) The 960 could. I read few articles which mentioned the 960 is one of the few which support hardware decoding. Desktop 960 yes(I have that on my NAS HTPC) but laptop 960 no, sadlyMost are buying this Inspiron for gaming. I would consider battery life = good to have but not one of the main factor tbh.... There's not much gain in terms of raw performance from Skylake compared to Haswell or Broadwell in this matter. Thus, snake oil Go ahead and buy. The economy needs some help |

there is always a way to cut queue. My friends did it few times. what they do is, they asking around their best friend who already order dell laptop, than ask their friend to call dell and add extra order, and ask dell to arrange shipment together.

Problem is, most people want to get it from Forumer / etc coz of cheaper price, ability to lowball and etc. |

QUOTE(AthrunIJ @ Nov 13 2015, 10:20 PM) Compared to Haswell? Most review online shows the newer Skylake has much more efficiency in terms of battery life and temp. Not too sure how much diff since I only own a Broadwell on my laptop and my skylake is on a desktop rather than a laptop. |
