Ya, M2 PCIE seen still not common but speed is  rclxms.gif
I may just on hold for SSD upgrade.

Do you know M2 sata is compatible or not? (much cheaper option)
Ya, because they use 45wh only. But for the LCD Panel sRGB result, M2 PCIE, & DDR4, is the main concern for me

Too bad, they dont had much option like DOS, i5 6300HQ from 7559

PCI-E ssd too expensive lar, m.2 and sata 3.0 is more than enough for me laugh.gif
as for ddr4 ram, I think it just save more battery and slightly increase performance whistling.gif

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But if you ask me m.2 PCIe ddr4 and i7 mobile are all just snake oil... You would be lucky to notice even a slight speed difference between a system which has all those versus one which doesn't nod.gif

From MSI web mention, its using M.2 PCI-E Gen3 x4 SSD (NVMe)
So which one is the correct SSD to be use? or both is able to fit?

DDR4 does not save battery and does not contribute to any performance increase tbh.

Just that DDR4 has much lower voltage, if you are pairing it with Skylake, they said it's beneficial.

No idea how much difference does it make, but I'm running a Skylake desktop with 32gb HyperX DDR4.

Not much difference compared to my Ivy bridge 3770 on 32gb DDR3 laugh.gif

So yeah, all this ddr4 thingy, snake oil tongue.gif

As long as you remove the M.2 SSD and don't touch the HDD, you're all set for warranty.

Dell don't care honestly.

I've gave up with red camp ages ago tongue.gif

Every time red launches something new, Blue will just double what they have now just to troll Red camp all over again :/

Every time red comes out with a new item, Blue will immediately attack with new lineup tongue.gif

And Blue already established a pretty deep stronghole, that's why they can afford to mess around with the red.

Thou I have to admit la, Red used to be a much more closer competition compared to nowadays.

Based on the general consensus :

DOS version = Yes.

If you want to add SSD = M.2 slot is for you.

For me skylake not snake oil as the integrated GPU able to decode HEVC while the 960 can't. Even if it could I wouldn't want to using that just for media.

And the battery increase with skylake is actually measurable. I've been seeing reviews of refreshed laptops at notebookcheck and can always see a healthy increase once paired with skylake as compared to Haswell it broadwell.

The 960 could. I read few articles which mentioned the 960 is one of the few which support hardware decoding.

hmm.gif

Most are buying this Inspiron for gaming. I would consider battery life = good to have but not one of the main factor tbh....

There's not much gain in terms of raw performance from Skylake compared to Haswell or Broadwell in this matter.

Thus, snake oil laugh.gif
