PCI-E ssd too expensive lar, m.2 and sata 3.0 is more than enough for me
as for ddr4 ram, I think it just save more battery and slightly increase performance

Hopefully its downward compatible.

DDR4 does not save battery and does not contribute to any performance increase tbh.

Just that DDR4 has much lower voltage, if you are pairing it with Skylake, they said it's beneficial.

No idea how much difference does it make, but I'm running a Skylake desktop with 32gb HyperX DDR4.

Not much difference compared to my Ivy bridge 3770 on 32gb DDR3

For me skylake not snake oil as the integrated GPU able to decode HEVC while the 960 can't. Even if it could I wouldn't want to using that just for media.

And the battery increase with skylake is actually measurable. I've been seeing reviews of refreshed laptops at notebookcheck and can always see a healthy increase once paired with skylake as compared to Haswell it broadwell.

Most are buying this Inspiron for gaming. I would consider battery life = good to have but not one of the main factor tbh....
