In my view, once EM almost fully developed, EM would be the name itself, not part of Semenyih nor Beranang anymore. Probably Tasik Kesuma, part of Semenyih and Beranang would claim they are EM or near EM.

The problem with batu kawan now is a lot of house there and also surrounding at tambun. Those houses got owners, but not many actually really staying in it! Batu kawan and tambun there still lack of job opportunity, not many factory like at Prai and Bayan Lepas.

Penang gov need to really do something on this.

If u ask me, LGE can focus to develop mainland rather than island since island land is limited.

In EM who shall it be? There are many potential candidates ya. Looking at the high number of forumers here, there is bound to be ONE who is highly passionate. Hehe.

We have those like "Speaker of Semenyih", high class mamak operator, Brighton owner etc etc. Just need that little spark to get the fire burning. smile.gif

In my personal opinion, Batu Kawan has big potential in the mid to long term. Highly accessible via NSE and Second Penang bridge and near to Penang airport.

As mentioned by LGE himself, he planned to develop Batu Kawan into another satellite township after Georgetown and Butterworth.

Great plans are being drafted and crafted to bring in big investors from Singapore(Temasek) and international MNCs. The plans to transform Batu Kawan into a educational hub, industrial hub, BPO/SSO and entertainment/recreational hub(theme park) hold boundless potentials for Batu Kawan. These plans ride hand-in-hand with EW vision to create job opportunities to drive demand for residential/commercial properties(highlighted by Dato Chang during EWC 2015).

Batu Kawan in general is a greenfield development where it offers great flexibility to developers to craft their products offering(Paramount, Aspen/IKEA, Malton, EW etc) to cater to different market segments.

A successful township will be a benchmark of others and become a brand name of that locality... People says "I live in Setia Alam, I live in DPC, I live in Sunway..." Probably in 10 years time people / I will say "I live in Majestic city" tongue.gif

Ya for a totally unknown developer(Sam Ling) to develop DPC into such a reputable township is really commendable. Cos at that time, there was totally no local township(DPC-alike) for Sam Ling to copy/study/emulate/replicate.
