there are some instances where you'll be playing games with very dark background or low light condition (quake 4, halo 2) where turning off the room light will make it easier to see the enemy in the dark...that's where the light from either the keyboard itself or an external hardware comes in to help...

actually with quake4, since you're playing at home, can just turn off shadows then some stuff becomes clearer.
in pitch darkness like in the toilets etc, room lights on or not, either way its not gonna save you
the battlelight etc is more for ppl who cant touchtype.

Love using my MS Intellimouse 1.1 for playing FPS games but not that suitable for playing strategy games.

I think wut he meant by great sounding was its performs well when it comes to playing music,movie etc.

Well, if you're looking for an FPS "experience"..... then you should go for a 5.1 system or something similar......

As the Mako is only a 2.1 system, even with all the THX technology or surround sound proxy, and can't give the total immersion experience a true 5.1 system provides.

I don't mind, because I don't play that much FPS games and would rather have a solid sound system........

Don't have a budget..if it's good i'll just get it...any suggestions?

well, the definition of good is very subjective and in this case, it's more so because each mouse performs as well but the most important thing is the comfort of the user...some people may like the DA and dislike DB and some, the other way round...although both mouse performs almost the same, in real life not benchies...and at the end of the day, it boils down to user's preference...

go to ALL IT in LYP...there are some demo mouse there...play with it, get a feel of what u like and go for that one...asking people's opinion will help you in a certain degree but too many of it will confuse you thus may lead you to buy what other people preferred rather than what you like or comfortable with...

i really have to agree with this...

gaming companies should stick to just making gaming peripherals like mouse n keyboards.

audio wise... ugh.

eg the razer headphones...for that price, id rather get an Audio Technica A500. itll definitely blow the razer headphones out of the water in soundstage, positioning and more importantly, sound quality. add a cheapo mic and u have urself a hell of alot better gaming headphone.

hell itll even sound hell of alot better for music too!
