If not mistaken, all SONY lcd monitors has "zero dot pixels" warranty.

Meaning, "one dead pixel" oso can claim warranty wink.gif

if you just bought the lcd, any problem will be replaced with a new unit

When I bought mine, found 1 faulty green pixel. Called them, initially they did not want to honour the replacement due to the 3 pixel policy that time. Oh well, talk to their superior, manage to convince them otherwise....few days later another unit arrived at my place. Been satisfied with it ever since.....BTW they let me play with two LCD for about a week plus, once they know that I'm satisfied, they send someone to collect the defective one back...
*
Actually i juz found that those hi-end of dell's lcd monitors are "zero dot warranty" as it stated on their site.

"Dell monitors are designed and built to our highest standards, providing the quality and reliability you expect when you see the Dell logo. Each has been exhaustively tested and comes backed by a Dell Limited Warranty3. Unyielding commitment to quality and the satisfaction of our customers has driven Dell to offer a Premium Panel Limited Guarantee ensuring replacement of UltraSharp series monitors with zero bright pixels. Even if only one bright pixel is found, a free panel exchange is guaranteed during the limited warranty3 period, so you can rest assured your investment is protected."
http://www1.ap.dell.com/content/products/p...dhs1&l=en&s=dhs

If im not wrong Viewsonic hi-end lcd monitors oso has "zero dot warranty" from VX model onwards.

Unfortunately they dont sell any 24inch locally... not to mention izzit juz me or Viewsonic VX design doesnt looks cool like it used to be.. =/

question - say a 24" widescreen, the reso is 1920 x 1200 native, im curious if u need to scale down to lower reso, maybe for your gaming rig to keep up, the lower reso avail are not widescreen reso?

no 1680x1050, no 1440x900??
*
Imo, all 20" lcd monitors and above doesnt have that kinda res, but u can custom add that resolution as long its not more than the max resolution.

Imo, 32" lcd tv and below doesnt suit CAD or any gfx design, considering it has low resolutions that doesnt have more than 1366x768 resolution.

ok what do we need to custom add resolution - is this a built in windows function or need particular software

btw i noticed new LCD comes with shiny display - can anyone share what are the difference - meaning shiny type good or no good for desktop? for gaming? for movies?

thx in advance
*
U can custom res with yer displaycard drivers, so basically built-in.

And abt LCD glossy screen :-

Imo Pros are..
------------------------------
1. Looks cool.
2. Looks more vibrant colors.

Imo Cons are...
------------------------------
1. Fingerprints magnet!..
2. Can't fixed minor dead-pixel since its hard-surface.
3. Glossy... meaning it will have mirror effects, annoying reflections.

may i know wats the difference between them?

If im not wrong..

Stuck pixel = 'bright color dot' which at time u can fixed it yerself by juz gently "rub\massage(?)" it.

Dead pixel = 'black dot', imou can't fix it or it can't be fixed, since well.. its oredi dead like bulb blow liaoz tongue.gif

I was thinking abt V2400W too, but according to the specs, its basically same as G2400W, just that V2400W has cool design.

So in other words.. does it worth the extra rm100++ for its designs?...

Hmmmmz.. hmm.gif

BenQ G2400W its pretty much recommended from reviews, as one of the best black-levels esp. for a TN panel.

And not to mentioned its great for next-gen console gaming bcoz of its hdmi and its decoder processor(?).

Im still thinking whether shld i get G2400W or wait for V2400W... hmmmz... hmm.gif
