QUOTE(albatross @ Apr 19 2008, 08:10 PM) if you just bought the lcd, any problem will be replaced with a new unit Actually i juz found that those hi-end of dell's lcd monitors are "zero dot warranty" as it stated on their site. When I bought mine, found 1 faulty green pixel. Called them, initially they did not want to honour the replacement due to the 3 pixel policy that time. Oh well, talk to their superior, manage to convince them otherwise....few days later another unit arrived at my place. Been satisfied with it ever since.....BTW they let me play with two LCD for about a week plus, once they know that I'm satisfied, they send someone to collect the defective one back... "Dell monitors are designed and built to our highest standards, providing the quality and reliability you expect when you see the Dell logo. Each has been exhaustively tested and comes backed by a Dell Limited Warranty3. Unyielding commitment to quality and the satisfaction of our customers has driven Dell to offer a Premium Panel Limited Guarantee ensuring replacement of UltraSharp series monitors with zero bright pixels. Even if only one bright pixel is found, a free panel exchange is guaranteed during the limited warranty3 period, so you can rest assured your investment is protected." http://www1.ap.dell.com/content/products/p...dhs1&l=en&s=dhs If im not wrong Viewsonic hi-end lcd monitors oso has "zero dot warranty" from VX model onwards. Unfortunately they dont sell any 24inch locally... not to mention izzit juz me or Viewsonic VX design doesnt looks cool like it used to be.. =/ Cheers This post has been edited by TomatomanzSeedlezz: Apr 19 2008, 10:28 PM |

QUOTE(kimi @ Apr 23 2008, 10:07 AM) ok what do we need to custom add resolution - is this a built in windows function or need particular software U can custom res with yer displaycard drivers, so basically built-in.btw i noticed new LCD comes with shiny display - can anyone share what are the difference - meaning shiny type good or no good for desktop? for gaming? for movies? thx in advance And abt LCD glossy screen :- Imo Pros are.. ------------------------------ 1. Looks cool. 2. Looks more vibrant colors. Imo Cons are... ------------------------------ 1. Fingerprints magnet!.. 2. Can't fixed minor dead-pixel since its hard-surface. 3. Glossy... meaning it will have mirror effects, annoying reflections. Cheers |
