Yeah, I already said, Error code 0110 sad.gif That information is propagated throughout the 360 sites over the net, so it wasn't too hard to find... considering I'm on page 13 on Google search right now! cry.gif

So sad to hear that bro ... where u got it from ?? Djinn shop ??

Btw, error 0110 is caused due to memory overheating ... u might have a faulty or damage HDD, just change it and ur Xbox360 will work fine, but dun take my word for it, i might be wrong. Best thing to do now ... is to check with Djinn ASAP.

Error 0110 is also known as the unknown error, the 360 doesn't know whats wrong. I removed the HDD and all too, doesn't work.

Where did u buy it from bro ??. Right now, the best solution is let ur Xbox360 rest and try to sleep, later on it back and see if its back to normal.

He said he got it from a store at 1U where Djinn used to work last time called Dream Games ... the problem is Djinn works at Gamester Direct right.

Sad to hear that bro. I guess the best thing to do is send back to the shop? Otherwise seek help from Metalgrindsolid who got a very good reputation here, as a xb360 saint!

Less than a month! How come u bought the console with April manufacturing date. Older stock? Prior May stock are popular due to easier for modding. Probably a used item who once was broken and sold to u?

According to rumors as reported by XBOX Scene website, Dead Rising caused a couple of XBOX 360s to show the ring of death, I guess if the game really pushes the console to its limits, I'm pretty sure that the operating temperature will be much higher since it is working under load.

I kept mine in one of those hi-fi stacking racks. the roomed is air-conditioned when I'm playing it, and the ventilation is good. Nothing blocking my 360 so the circulation should be good. For god's sake, mine is only 3 weeks old! at least i can say that i've managed to finished my GOW b4 this happened.

What about your power bricks?(what's the proper name? lol) Mobius put his suspended on an old shoe box(my shoe box vmad.gif ) and so far it hadn't 3 ROD once, only frozen a couple of times in the guide button menus.

So one cable on left side of box and another on right side, so the brick is suspended.

it might because of the on board temp controller faulty? due to that your fans won't spin it in full speed if the cpu/gpu gets hotter?

this is what i can think of at the moment for causing the melt down.

Maybe the water that was in the wet cloth that may have gone into the hard drive short-circuited the system?

Seems like a good explanation. That's why it's bad to have maids unless you can't tell a detergent from a sunlight washing soap.

Hi everyone, just to update ... I got my 360 replaced, I had to shell a couple of hundred but it's all good now. Had a near 45 minute negotiation phase with the boss.

If you're planning on purchasing a 360, please for the love of all that's holy, buy it from Gamer's Hideout. Any problem: they will take care of their customers - that's what a game retail shop should be. Retail + Community. They do it fast too.

Saw u online yesterday, good to have u back.

Why on earth do u have to pay them? It was supposed to be their responsibility to claim for u warranty and ur console was only a 18 day old console doh.gif

Nevertheless, u are back biggrin.gif

There's no warranty in Malaysia. In Singapore you get 1-1 exchange immediately, over here you don't. If I give it to them, it will be pending, and I heard they do it really slow (One guy waited for over 6 months, and the boss made him pay 700 to get a new one). Over at Gamer's Hideout, Eddie has done it in a month - big difference isn't it ? I don't understand why does it take them so long - there's alot of 360's pending in their list.

Btw, thanks alot guys =) Glad to be back.

Bit of a jam in Sabah, if the retail shop in Sabah buys their 360's from Singapore, then it will also be a problem when you face problems. Even if you buy it a GH, you'd have to send it back if there's a problem.

Who knows, it might be worser if Microsoft wants to reduce the cost of production in order to lower the prices of their consoles. doh.gif Instead of 3 RODs, you might get 4 next year. thumbup.gif

My 5 day old X-Box 360 developed the 3ROD. Brought it back to Gamer's Hideout. Had the set swapped 1-to-1. No hassle, no more 3ROD, happy customer.

This is how things should be. If the end-user is assured of prompt and complete rectification of any problems that occur as a result of a manufacturing defect during the warranty period; there is no worries in purchasing: Hence more buyers.

Djinn, if only more retailers are as professional as you are....

Works fine now. Optical drive is noisier than the first 360 but heck, combined with the noise generated by GOW/GRAW... I can live with that... cool.gif

if a 5-day/18-day old box can get unknown 3ROD error, can u imagine what happens when the 360 celebrates its 1st, 2nd or 3rd birthday? maybe this is MS strategy against modchip & modding?

servicing xbox360s is gonna more lucrative industry than selling games if it reaches an installed base of 30 million or more tongue.gif tongue.gif

Since the XBox 360 has not officially been brought into Malaysia, sets sold locally have to be parallel imports. This is usually from Singapore and therefore the warranty is from MS Singapore. If you bring it in yourself, then you won't be able to go through a Malaysian dealer for a warranty claim. Generally what happens is the dealer will arrange for the set to make the trip back to Singapore and facilitate your RMA process.

Some dealers (eg. Gamer's Hideout) have a policy for one-on-one replacement (subject to availability of the replacement set I presume) for the first month.

I think this is a fair system and certainly given that the 3ROD (i.e. hardware faults) is hardly a rare occurence is a very GOOD reason to buy from a local retailer with a good reputation.
