I have overlooked my HL FD on maturity date by a few days. Went to HL to terminate FD because it was renewed to board rate. The counter officer asked why withdrawal....told her Ocbc 12 months 4.5%. She said if I can top up a little bit, she can change my FD from board rate to 12 months promo rate of 4.2%. Wow, HL is very flexible on fresh fund. Told her no...Still prefer Ocbc even though didn't see leng lui there

lets say min. fund for fd is 10k but u have 50k, will u guys split into 5xfd or just 1xfd?

managed 4.25 % for 3 months at CIMB (subject to approval) today

ocbc 12 mth 4.5% get 24k gold - plate egg only 2 day..28-29 nov
t&c want to ask banker..

Currently max interest rate is about 4.5~4.6%, no way bank will come out promotion of big jump in rate to 5.5%.

4.7~4.8% is already super attractive enough, doesn't need to raise it until 5.5%.

Likely it is a step up.
You look at effective rate, not step up rate.

why, you are waiting for 5% & 6%, did not put for 1 month fd or in sa?

also even 4.3% is lower than ocbc 4.5% 1year?

Seems to me that a lot of these FD rates apply only to physical branches. Very inconvenient. Anyone know the best rates that can be performed through ebanking only?

I just came back from Am Bank

A bad news..
According to Am Bank, these 2 FD promo are no more available... 
AM Bank does not have any new FD promo now..

So I think the best so far are:
(1) Affin 15 months at 4.6% - valid until end of Dec
(2) OCBC 12 months at 4.5% - valid until end of Dec
(3) UOB 12 months at 4.4% - valid until end of Dec
(4) RHB 15 months at 4.4% - valid until March 2016
(5) Public Bank 12 months at 4.3% - valid until end of Dec

Received one SMS from BR yesterday:
Istimewa 4.3% p.a. Akaun Deposit-i Berjangka, 12 bln.
Berpeluang menangi hadiah menarik!

BR is out at this moment.. 

The main issue is will Bank Negara follow US Federal Reserve to
raise Malaysia OPR or not..??

So? Better to place FD in short term first?
Like 3 months?..
