Dear Sifus,

I have a serious question to ask.

Assume we have 3 separate FSM accounts. One main account for ourselves, a second beneficiary account for our wife and a third beneficiary account for our infant child. Let's assume an investment horizon of 20 years.

Would it be foolhardy to buy the same funds for all 3 accounts? This means if the funds perform badly for a particular period, all the 3 separate accounts would be equally affected. Wouldn't this be a classic case of putting all your eggs in one basket?

May I know what is your view?

RM8 deducted by PPA is different from RM10 for account opening. The former is claimable in income tax but not the later.

thanks for the highlighting....just confirm with FSM.
YOU are correct...I already amended the original post to reflect the latest correct info.

i maybe wrong, but I think a few weeks back...there was a question about the number of "TUNs" in Malaysia...
"85 carry the title of ‘Tun’ with 42 Seri Maharaja Mangku Negara award holders and another 43 who received Seri Setia Mahkota award".

with yuan currency going into IMF basket of goodies, any opinion on that? full speed ahead china?

hmm.gif not according to this guy...

"The yuan's "inclusion is unlikely to have great impact on short-term demand" for the currency, said IG market strategist Bernard Aw in a report. "What's more important is perhaps the boost to President Xi's efforts to liberalise China's financial markets."

hmm.gif I would suggest......(phrase taken from article)
"Investing always carries an element of risk. It is paramount to always keep tabs on your life’s circumstances and finances to evaluate the amount of risk you can take before committing to an investment".

try understand your true self and the risk involved first, only then decide.
your questions and the answers that you seek maybe different between investors.
try reading this first while waiting for more responses....

BTW,....(as for me) I would not want to touch EPF for investment. I find that my risk appetite, risk reward seeking does not warrant me to try to seek the possible few % better ROI from the 5.5%....(but others would)

I have a referral credit expiring on 8 Dec... what should I top up? GTF? Think I'll stop topping up ponzi 2.0 for now... Asia market is going no where

hmm.gif just hope this might gives you some encouragement...... biggrin.gif
........... while investors into Asian markets might be feeling blue this year, have faith! Markets will not always stay down forever. And times like that when viewed in the lens of history may prove to have been good opportunities for buying in.

Patience is needed right now from investors who are already invested into Asian markets. Historically, being invested into Asian markets are their current valuations have always delivered good returns over the next two to three years. Volatility can be very much expected though, especially given that western market valuations are higher at this stage.

Just a reminder as well, as we near the end of the year, it is a good time to look at your portfolios to rebalance them and make sure they are well diversified.

Particularly RHB Asian Total Return? But this fund, the main contributor is forex, not sure how sustainable is the returns. It is after all a bond fund

I also have RHB Asian Income which I liked, it's slow and steady, don't go as high as Ponzi previously, but when it falls, it's not as painful
*
i have BOTH of this fund....EQ and FI same pain....
when they falls...BOTH are as HARD and PAINful. tongue.gif
xuzen is right when he said recently...some BOND funds are as volatile as EQ funds....

btw, i entered that BOND fund on 17 Nov...that is why i monitored it and realized that xuzen is right.

Already diversified to FI and EQ......Need to diversify to reduce volatility AGAIN? biggrin.gif

ohhh, my Asia X Jpn EQ is 34%
my Ponzi 2.0 is only 5%...you got only 1 Asia Pac fund?

I had to sell and relocate.....(others may not do that).
