Not much, Fallout 4 and AC: Syndicate are among the latest games that utilize the extra threads more "efficiently" than other games.

I see. I could save on the processor and go for the GTX 980 instead. Hmm. Is there a lot of a difference between the GTX 970 Amp! Extreme Core and the cheapest GTX 980?

An overclocked GTX970 can match the performance of stock GTX980 which makes GTX980 not worth the money.
*
I see, what about the R9 390X?

QUOTE(Aivihc @ Dec 29 2015, 10:41 AM)
wait for Pascal instead.. i also tahan2 not to buy GC this year  sweat.gif

I have some free time for a few months. Not that I can't wait, but right now is the best time for me to buy a new rig.

Anyone selling a GTX970? biggrin.gif tongue.gif

R9 390X is great but at the same time it is a power sucker also  sweat.gif

One of the important facts that you need to take note when buying AMD card is Nvidia GameWorks sabotage, performance won't be as good as same tier Nvidia card, so don't expect it will outperform GTX970/980 all the time.
*
Finally bought the rig today.

Intel i5-6600
Msi B150 Gaming M3
Zotac GTX970 Extreme Core
Kingston HyperX 8GB
FSP Hexa+ 550w

Thanks everyone for the help! Especially bro Terence! Give this guy an admin tag tongue.gif

Recommend me a good & reliable HDD? Faster version if possible, 1TB/2TB. Thanks!

If you want faster version then go for 7200 RPM one like Seagate Barracuda.
*
Is it worth it going for the WD Black? 1TB same price as Blue 2TB.

Black is also 7200 RPM, but warranty is longer, I won't recommend you to get Black unless you have money to burn.

And any Blue > 1TB is actually Green re-brand, meaning it is only 5900 RPM (max), Seagate Barracuda's 7200RPM is definitely faster at similar price point.
*
I see. Now I get it. I will go for the Seagate. Not that expensive too. Thanks bro!

What about those hybrid drives? Any idea? Should I go for a fast 500gb HDD for my games and a normal 1-2TB for my media files?

Hybrid drive as in SSHD? I have bad experience with it, speed is almost similar to normal HDD to me.

Normal 7200 RPM HDD is enough for games nowadays unless you want super fast then prepare your wallet for SSD.

As for media files like song, video, movie then 5xxx RPM one is fine, but transfer time will be longer.

But then by looking at the current HDD price, the difference between 5xxx RPM and 7200 RPM drive is pretty small, so no point to invest in slower drive right?  tongue.gif
*
Ah I see. I have a SSD but it's my boot drive. Just a small 120gb.

Yeah, good point bro. Will go for the Seagate Barracuda instead. Thanks again and again!

Can someone recommend me a good gaming mouse, especially for bigger palms?

QUOTE(Aivihc @ Dec 30 2015, 04:27 PM)

Sad that Deathadder is not in there. Will look for the Deathadder videos tonight.

QUOTE(RaptoR @ Dec 30 2015, 05:00 PM)
I have both the proteus core and deathadder, both are good with their own features. However, i would say deathadder grip for bigger palm is more comfortable to use. just that deathadder buttons don't last very long, ended up having double click issues where the left mouse button when you press once, it'll register as double click. This happened after using it for 2 years.
*
Ahh I see. Which one do you prefer more? Razer are known for the doubleclick issue, even with their keyboards. It occured only after 2 years? Good enough I suppose. I think I might go for the Deathadder Chroma since I bought a Blackwidow Tournament Chroma together with the rig recently. Also planning to get the Razer Firefly mousepad.

QUOTE(Ronin_Amin @ Jan 1 2016, 04:43 AM)
There is a distinct dislike (hate) towards razer products among some (majority) of gamers. I personally feel like their products are overpriced and lacking in build quality as well as troublesome drivers. Admittedly it has been years since I used a razer product so that might not be true.

1. The Razer Mamba Chroma Tournament Edition has a laser sensor. For most fps gamers, this is a big no-no as optical sensors are more accurate than laser.

"Lastly, the performance of the new sensor is great as well. We definitely had no need to go anywhere near the maximum DPI level, even on a 4K monitor, but the option is there if you need it. At more realistic levels, the mouse offers excellent tracking that's smooth and jitter free with no built-in acceleration (unless you add it via the software). As a laser mouse, it also works very well on less than ideal surfaces too. Using a low DPI and large sweeping movements, we did still encounter a little jitter when repositioning the mouse, but the lift off distance did still feel fairly low."-http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/peripherals/2015/06/16/razer-mamba-2015-tournament-edition-review/2

2. It has RGB lighting which makes the product more expensive. A non issue if you want RGB lighting.

I suppose it comes down to what type of games are you going to play primarily. I my self use and love the logitech's g502 although I had to change a palm grip with g300 to a claw grip. I am also biased towards logitech's mice.
*
There reason I want the Mamba is because of the RGB lighting to match my Blackwidow Chroma keyboard. The lighting on the sides is nice. But I'm not aware of the laser issue. Is it really an issue for fps? And I've only heard good things about the Razer Synapse software, that it's very user friendly.

What about the Logitech G602 wireless? It's quite big as well right. Although without the flashy RGB.

Since you still have extra PCI-E slots, why don't put the GPU at other slot  laugh.gif

Ah good idea, haven't got used to a motherboard with 2 pci-e slots haha! Will try that, thanks! Any idea for better cable management?

So red  biggrin.gif . Personally I prefer to route the gpu cable from behind the case.

I know right! Would prefer the interior to be black actually. This is all I can do with the gpu cable because it's so short. If I want to improve, I'd have to buy an extension.
