where's this LHS list from? never seen one before. I live in Shah Alam too, and since the day I started RC drift I don't think there is any other store aside from HPC Glenmarie but they don't carry Tamiya. Daisheng doesn't carry a comprehensive range of 1:10 items, mostly bodyshells and they cost a bomb.. maybe that's why it's not endorsed.

TRF cars come with ball bearing (one way?) diffs, in which you can only tighten it to the max but it will still give way a little. The best answer is to change to a spool diff. But, if you're feeling adventurous and don't mind anything happening to your TRF parts, then go ahead and place a thin rubber piece cut in the shape of the pressure rings, in between the diff halves. No guarantee on this! laugh.gif

One U is Tamiya Underground bro, at the B2 carpark level there. They can assist you with info, just tell them you're interested in a 1:10 scale RC drift car. Good luck smile.gif

mx3x is intermediate range, not bad also, a lot of necessary functions.

shaft for torque (tight drifts) and belt for speed (long drifts) but often belt does the job best either way.

TM is an aftermarket parts maker, and just like every other, they have their shortcomings.. parts are cheap though, alu parts cost less than Tamiya plastic parts sometimes biggrin.gif

do i get 4 ch or 3 ch transmitter?  I want to make my drift rc with on/off light and lots more.

the number of channels are determine by the number of things you're going to control with the ESC i.e throttle and steering. if you wanna add lights I'm not sure if you can actually trigger them from the controller or not, but usually what I see is they just intercept the throttle line to make brake lights, the rest are switched on/off by a separate switch on the car itself.

3PL is the high end model from Futaba, to compete with M11x. The equivalent of an MX3 should be a 2PL.

Proportional are those incrementally adjustable channels gua.. so a non-proportional should be on/off. I never knew this existed so a non-proportional should be perfect for lights but then the question is will the Rx be able to channel juice to any aux accessories like lights? even Tamiyas have their own light controller and I don't believe it was made just for the brake light function...

The TLU1 isn't a controlled light unit, it's just plug and play then switch on/off by hand. If you wanna control lights using the controller, you need a TLU2, or a custom made light controller. But whether it can be used with non-Tamiya ESCs or not I'm not sure sorry..

Can transmitter control on/off of the car light?

I want to do something like this...

the video demonstrates what I mean when I say most ppl intercept the throttle channel with a light, so that when the current passes for brakes it switches on (or brightens the already switched on) brake lights. a simple switchboard design is required for this though. there was a guy selling custom made switchboards last time, I bought one for RM20 and it can take 8 LEDs and do stuff like this. forgot his name already though.. sweat.gif

Ok, good choice on the controller (Sanwa fanboy here tongue.gif) and as for the kit I've not heard of it, but as long as can adjust camber and toe IMO can drift already.

any 4x4 RC car can drift, talk about settings or tires all got plenty of references online.. but your natural reflexes will determine how fast you can go (since you talk about speed and driftability la)
