May I hav you all opinion to guide me which models below are better?
a)Sony CDX-GT460US - RM599
b)Pioneer 5750MP - RM599
c)Eclipse CD1000 - RM650

QUOTE
a)Sony CDX-GT460US(will released around Mid/Dec)
user posted image
- MP3,ATRAC3plus,WMA,AAC,CD-R/RW Playback
- S-MOSFET 52Wx4 Output
- 24 Bit DAC
- Aux-In Front
- DSO2 (Dynamix Sountage Organiser 2)
- EQ3/ 7 modes
- Low Pass Filter
- CD-text Display/Scroll
- MP3 CD Changer Connectable
- WMA Tag Indication
- MD Control
- Detachable Front Panel
- Wireless Remote Commander
Generally this HU has USB port,24bits DAC and it's unique technology DSO2 which can provide powerful and variety type of function. But since sony HU has a common weakness point which is it stability and durability. wink.gif

QUOTE
b) DEH-5750MP
user posted image
- MP3,WMA,WAV, CD-R/RW Playblack
- MOSFET 50W x 4
- iPOD adaptor ready
- BMX (Bitmetric Equalizer)
- EEQ / 6mode
- SFEQ (Sound Focus Equalizer)- EX
- Selectable loudness (low/mid/high)
- Remote control
- 3 pre-out RCA. Front/Rear & Subwoofer
As thought as many user,Pioneer HU show its strong side on durability and stability. But how about the sound?(I more prefer to clear sound,SQ direction)I heard many forummer claims that Pioneer HU with 7series below are not sound good, like blur and heavy bass a bit.Is that true? sweat.gif

QUOTE
c)Eclipse CD1000
user posted image
- MP3,WMA,CD-R/RW
- Bass/Treble control
- 5-mode preset EQ + 1 customizable EQ
- FM/AM tuner
- Dual preoutput
- Detachable front panel
- Remote control (optional)
I think this should be the HU with the least functions among above players.Anyhow I think its should play a good sound than other 2 players above right?(Correct me if im wrong).

------------------------------------------------------------------------
With the price and functionality, which models do you think is worth it's value to buy?I know many ICE user here has own support brand, but please giving your honest opinion subjectively. Please consider to overall performance and the functionality it has which really worth the money but not good in certain performance only.Welcome to share your experience and understanding for the HU you are using or used.Sorry because my language not so good so may not explain well what I want to describe. blush.gif

I'm voting for Pioneer here. Coz its' just simply better than Sony. For that price, the sound quality range is at a very reasonable. I've owned a pioneer DEH-2050 since 1998. Never failed at all and its still in a very mint condition altough it had abit of scratches on the face due to some of my friends' long fingernails poking it when i just got it.

My Pioneer 3-way speakers also can take the heavy bass i put it through. It only gave way last year, now change to clarion(no money, had to downgrade) and less than 1 year, the dumbo broke. Nowadays whenever a heavy-bass music from the radio will make it sound like William Hung.

Thanks for your opinion.
Yes,durability and stability is always the strongest point of Pioneer HU.
But if we ignore this point.what pioneer HU still can 'pioneer'?

putting an eclipse with sony and pioneer??? no fight man...

any ICE kaki will know that eclipse is the way to go.

so far the only brands i can think of that would be comparable to eclipse would be nakamichi and alpine... even then oso i think most ice kakis will still go for eclipse.

anyway.... i voted for eclipse based on brand... but thats BEFORE i read what u posted blush.gif

after reading ur requirements id say the best bang for buck would be the pioneer....

BUT... if all u wanna do is play normal audio CDs or MP3 CDs... id still stick with the eclipse..looks better too

i vote for pioneer... in terms of built quality they are the top ones... and i guess SQ you will hav to audit them yourself... but for me... any HU will sound nice as long as the tuning of the whole setup is done correctly...

cheers...

eclipse is popular and great stuff in the US, just like how clarion and alpine is

pioneer is pretty good too, but really im not the ICE person, so i have no say. but i know SONY is not want. comparably, pioneer has MOSFETs, not sure bout eclipse. but judging on pioneers features, take pioneer, no regrets, especially with ipod expandability

ive owned a kenwood hud and pioneer speakers, it worked great

Just to point out some stuff.. If you planning on using RCA output then no point for you to compare those MOSFET

And I'll vote for pioneer since it has 3 RCA output.. dont have to buy preamp already laugh.gif

High end or low end can't compare like this.
Alpine, Eclipse also produce low-end or entry level products to meet the market's demand. Alpine does have player which only cost RM700. i'm sure u can't call those High-end. To be honest, High-End players don't play MP3 and don't look great.
Pioneer mostly produce affordable and moderate players.
what's your budget? why go for last year's model? there is a guy selling DEH-6850MP for RM8xx. I bought it from him and have no regrets. It's a good HU. Well, then again it's all up to u.

edit:spelling

Well, mid-range of Pioneer in Malaysia for this year's models is probably the 6 series. 4v output, 3 RCA out. It's definitely a good buy.

If not, u can also go for DEH-5850MP which has 2.2v output. Also with 3 RCA out. it's DEFINITELY better than Sony. I used to have a Sony HU and regret every second after using it. hehe

Performance wise compared to Eclipse and Alpine. If you compare the Eclipse model as above, the DEH-5850MP will turn out better.

The CD2000 has MOSFET 50X4 output:) And if not mistaken,it cost around RM750.

I'm using the CD3000 and it sounds better than my friend's Pioneer 7750:)The difference is,Pioneer has more functions for you to play with.

Your friend in other forum said the sound produce without amp is blur and can't make satisfication right? look at what speaker and component they are using. If your speaker is good enought, Pioneer can met satisfactory without amplifier.

If three of this i need to make a choice, i'll go for the Pioneer 5750MP.

1. Can flip Down, reduced or free of dust.

2. Ipod adapter ready.

3. Feel of technolody. (aiya.. pretty enough mah)

4. Sound clarity.

5. Hardly shock. (my own opinion lar..)

qing duo zhi jiao... if found that anythings wrong..
