for sg or foreign stocks?

just curious, what is the brokerage fee for local, foreign stocks for this maybank ke in sg?

don't know what to make out of the budget except that with major fiscal spending to drive growth, mas will not be mucking around with ex change rates to ease interest rates.

SGD probably will stay strong for now.

these major breaks always come unexpected, hard to prepare for them.

with new budget moves to incr fiscal spending, will be hard to see sgx counters go thru a major correction.

next best thing is to buy on dips, that's all...

sabana was one of my first, about 3 years ago.

bought 1.05, dumped 0.95 a year later.

this and first reit were my biggest disappointments.

ya, it crumbled between late 2013 and 2014.

during the same period, same thing happened to LIPPO - another disaster.

doesn't matter...

the money is always put to good use...

this is scary...

lippo, first reit, now this ascendas.

are "foreign" sgx listed reits/trusts going sour?

SGD will weaken..

this is the impt thing.

bad news if price is low but div goes lower as well.

it will become another SABANA or LIPPO!

be very careful with dropping prices and dropping div!

meaning... good chance mas will weaken SGD.

may not be a good time buy more SGD.

and RM taking a pounding this weak - oil price fall, imdb defaults, jp morgan downgrade...

USD better, i guess.

pounds will flee to usd, yen, gold and bonds.

stocks and crude price will fall.

worst will be oil/energy stocks.

first time the world is witnessing such an event causing such a dramatic change in fx rates for a major currency, the british pound.

so, there is no precedent.

i think it will be carnage in european and usa markets tonight - stocks, oil, commodities.

esp when investors pushed everything up high last night.

i will not buy anything asian today.

wait till the blood is spilled in europe and usa.

the turmoil may last a few days or a few weeks...?

major bourses on a rampage - dow, s&p, nasdaq all at/near all time highs.

hold 1-2 months.

earnings season now.

i am quite sure there will be buying opportunities in sgx or nyse.

even oil co. stocks like exxon and chevron have gained >20% in the last 6 months!

same for tech stocks like fb and yahoo.

oil contractors/suppliers, worldwide... not so good. many about to fold for good.

ya, high risk, high gain...

every foreign report i read points to oil going <40 in the coming days/weeks.

no chance for recovery until earliest 2018.

no chance until OPEC cuts production - and that means major chaos for venezuela, nigeria, a few others.

the world now has too much oil, too much gasoline, too much diesel.

demand growing, supply growing faster.

only local politicians and politico-analysts are hopeful at this time.
