but still rukunegara states kepercayaan kepada tuhan,  so in some way they need to enforce that within the system i think

u tell them what to do la,  maybe you can try govern tje country also,  see how.

tell you what,  in agama classes also we learn pretty useless stuff also like nilai murni or adab sopan santun thing.  so it's not purely religious study on history or scriptures.

but as per your suggestion maybe can add up in moral subject asal usul agama in msia i.e.  the previous hindu buddha influences,  just for the sake of  being equal ,  rite? both also pretty useless ma

Religion should stay out of school. period. Wanna study religion, go study at mosque/temple/church/MPH bookstore.

As a Cina yang tak makan khinzir..

I also support 1 school system...but with caveats. If unity, equality and integration are to be achieved..there must be no double takes..i.e the school has to be based on merits system. Can there be a guarantee that children will be graded by merits and not by race? If discrimination continue to exist in schools..can kiss goodbye to unity, equality and integration.

Now that is the uphill task we face..

It is just brain wash you know.
Just look at the leaders. They break all 5 of the national principles.

Also, it is introduced after 1969 based on nothing much really, and don't have any legal binding or power.

I find it funny whenever people use the national principles as a point in argument.

Pointless discrimination no less. Malays are no less capable than Chinese or Indians. Just need to learn to trust a good system to build the individual.

I agree that race has nothing to do with ability. One does not judge a book by its covers. But it doesn't detract from the fact that year in year out...countless STUDENTS are left in lurch even with great academic + co-curricular results often being by passed for Uni entrance.

I hope once 1 stream is initiated, parties can raise the bar by implementing the track success of SRJK in academia thus ...the whole system gets a boost and more and more STUDENTS will able to achieve greater results and parity is restored. Thus, student ought to be gauged solely by merits

exactly i donno why the fearmongering here and there.

most western countnry got centralized standardized public school. u want learn chinese take up chinese class, u want do violin? take up violin class, u want do french? take up french class given that u have the amount of credit at the end of the year u can move on. this is where i think american public education is kinda superior compared to malaysian.

u want to hve ur own syllabus? good go open a private school.

I'd find one if I could but that comment was obviously based on many other similar threads that's about the very same topic. 1 school system is not a new topic.
