good result are the outcome of your taking care of the courses your studying.
this can be an insight for prospective employer of your attitude towards your job.smile.gif

Even though ridiculous, but results is still a deciding factor for any major or minor company to take you.

Even though our education system is too primitive to bring out the best for each students, and thus effectively prevented lots of talented children to go further with their talents, and raise them up as robotic exam machine and mindless employee.

well.., our education is exam-oriented and not technical-oriented...

those who have strong memory and can memorize always get the good score.. but when asked to do practical, they become blur..

my lecturer friend manage to get full marks for CCNA exam and graduate with flying colour but did not know how to configure a real router when asked by interviewer...

i believe: experience is more important than academic.
but what experience do fresh grad have?

good academic only gives u an interview
from there, its attitude n interpersonal skills

i belive that both is equally important, but being a fresh grad, i feel that some employers are taking avantage of the current economic situation and the demand for jobs by jobless grads. low pay and treat u like ants. (dogs get better treatment!!!).

for example: i got a job offer from one company (non executive level), salary RM1500, then they wanna bond me for 2 yrs, if i break the bond then i got to pay them 20K. this is for a 2nd class upper grad with 3 dean list (yeah, miss the cut for 1st class by a hair). how to sign the agreement? u tell me.

i have also been to some interviews where they dont even see ur certs, so i think they are looking at the attitude and interpersonal skills side. this kind of employers are the kind to work for, why? becoz they dont look at your result but see if u can do the job right, i am sure u have heard of grads with 1st class that dunno how to do work and this kind of employer want to avioid this. i know this girl who got 1st class in computer science but dunno how to format a computer in her first year, hahaha.

anyway, i guess in times like this, experience is more important than results in the employers mind.

Yes, u r right as fresh grad the com will look on the result as you dont have experience. So what they can see it result and ur personality during interview.
As for MSC, 1st is result, 2nd experience.
Local com, experience and see u can do kick one leg or not

From an MNC employee:

Paper qualifications are just a bar for you to get the interview. During the interview, they will look for attitude and experience. These days, there are more situational questions asked to see your reaction i.e. whether you're a good listener, able to articulate, able to communicate your idea etc.

1 edge I always preach applicants is internships/part time job. It shows that the candidate is interested in working and have some proof of working with people. Club activities are next in line.

Between a 4.0 applicant and a 3.3 applicant whom organized carity programs and worked as a circuit tester during intern, I'll take the later anytime.

I assume result you're referring is Academic/Degree result. Academic result is useful especially for the first few years of working experience when you go for interview. After that, experience counts. icon_rolleyes.gif
