If any of you wanted to get the X70, let me know. I've placed a preorder with Ozzy before the deadline on the 28th so if you're interested, let me know so that I can hook you up. But do note that you need to purchase it before March 15.

About the Digital Teleconverter - it's same perspective of 28mm and zoomed in to 50mm FOV, correct?
*
Yes, you are right.
The downside of X70 in Digital Teleconverter is, it interpolates the 35mm or 50mm to original 16MP instead of CROPPED the image.
Unlike GR, it cropped the final result (JPG).

A fun little feature in the X70 is the digital crop feature or “digital tele converter” as Fujifilm labels it. When shooting jpeg mode you can chose to use either a 28mm, 35mm or 50mm crop mode. (35mm eq.) The camera does some clever interpolation and wizardry so you actually get a full 16mp output file. Of course you can see the compression when you look closer, but for snapshots this feature is really cool.

For those we want to skip PP smile.gif SOOC.
Also another reason is some ppl prefer to composite in 35mm or 50mm.

For me, i prefer to crop in PP

Hopefully Fuji will provide crop the photo in future via firmware update

How many steps does it take to change the focal length?

If many steps then might as well crop during PP.

Just turn the focus ring to "Zoom" while in AF-S and AF-C mode.
If in M mode, then the focus ring will be focus ring smile.gif

Does this also mean the Digital TC is not available in M mode?

That's right, RAW and All bracketing mode will disable the Digital TC.

Erm, I will have a trip to Yunnan next month and for 18 days. Can't wait!

Since only both of us will be travelling, so if we were to take shots together, gotta use a tripod right? How do you guys carry your tripod when go for vacation? Ever since I changed to Fujifilm system, my bags are so small that they can't fit a tripod. sad.gif

I actually bought a small little selfie stick that comes with three legs but the drawback is it can only be extended to 80cm. We are 165cm and 172cm tall respectively, 80cm doesn't seem to make a lot of justice in this case. laugh.gif Or is it sufficient?

I also have a Joby Gorillapod, will this help?

Yunnan is at low latitude with high pressure flow, so I just want to minimize bringing too many heavy stuff and it will be a burden for me. I won't be able to breathe properly already especially when I'm in Shangri-La, so try to be careful in my selections. laugh.gif

I think it should be sufficient if you use selfie stick with wide angle lens like 18mm. Maybe you should give it a try taking selfie with the setup that mentioned since the height difference is not that much actually.

The thing is the selfie stick is with my friend now because she bought for me and will bring it straight to the trip.
We are from different country...

I believe it should be able to take selfie as long as you're shooting at 18mm or wider. Also make sure the selfie stick quality is not same as those that available in night market since XT1 is quite heavy.
