Where do you guys buy  camera wrist strap?  Something like those gordys.

X70 should have come with a wrist strap instead of a neck strap. Too long.

Online, direct from Gordy official website.

Seems like Fujifilm doesn't have a lens with 49mm thread size. So I have to use my Sony lens cap until no brand one arrive.

Hi all,
just looking at the fuji thread about the straps, if you are interested in braided straps like those arts and artisan kinds, checkout http://sailor-strap.com/.
Not as expensive like A&A.. colors are customizable and good quality!

i am using it now..
*
Hmm.... both are nice straps!

@juveleong I think Bigheadtaco is using this green one biggrin.gif

philipcs, how's the external charger's performance? compatible? may i know where did you bought it and how much? IMHO, in-camera body charging is not the real deal.
*
Yes, working fine. charging speed is about the same as the External AC desktop charger (from my Ricoh GXR).
This USB and AC type charger are having the same output, 600mA.

Charging from empty to full will take around 2.5 hours.

I bought it from Taobao, very cheap RMB25, not including shipping to Malaysia

Can X70 support inbody USB charging or thru AC adaptor?
*
X70 is designed to charge inbody.
Either Power Bank or USB Power Adapter will do.

Here are some shots for 28mm, 35mm & 50mm in dark and challenging lighting environment.
ISO is very high, 5000 & 6400.

I can clearly see the resolution degraded dramatically in 35mm and 50mm.

*
I rested my X70 on the rail to stablize a bit, but i am not using the remote to shoot.

About the Digital Teleconverter - it's same perspective of 28mm and zoomed in to 50mm FOV, correct?
*
Yes, you are right.
The downside of X70 in Digital Teleconverter is, it interpolates the 35mm or 50mm to original 16MP instead of CROPPED the image.
Unlike GR, it cropped the final result (JPG).

See this Review:http://jonasraskphotography.com/2016/01/15...ilm-x70-review/

QUOTE
A fun little feature in the X70 is the digital crop feature or “digital tele converter” as Fujifilm labels it. When shooting jpeg mode you can chose to use either a 28mm, 35mm or 50mm crop mode. (35mm eq.) The camera does some clever interpolation and wizardry so you actually get a full 16mp output file. Of course you can see the compression when you look closer, but for snapshots this feature is really cool.

Then why not just crop in post?
*
For those we want to skip PP smile.gif SOOC.
Also another reason is some ppl prefer to composite in 35mm or 50mm.

For me, i prefer to crop in PP

Hopefully Fuji will provide crop the photo in future via firmware update

How many steps does it take to change the focal length?

If many steps then might as well crop during PP.
*
Just turn the focus ring to "Zoom" while in AF-S and AF-C mode.
If in M mode, then the focus ring will be focus ring smile.gif

Does this also mean the Digital TC is not available in M mode?
*
You can, but you need extra step.
Go to Menu, Shooting Menu 5, Digital Converter

That's right, RAW and All bracketing mode will disable the Digital TC.

got quoted below that from a lowyat seller...
when is x40 expected to be launched?
*
No idea as didnt hear or see any rumors of X40 online.

By the way, what you like about X30? Besides the zoom lens is good and large aperture, others like sensor, it is quite small 1/2.3" and size is bulky.

Canon, Nikon, Panasonic already in the Sony 1" sensor game..... who knows? Maybe Fuji will join the fray?
*
Hope fully they bring down the size as well.

See RX100m3 with 1" sensor with bigger aperture vs Fuji X30 super bulky design with lower spec.

been loving fujifilm film simulation since the day i saw fujifilm x10 and also its classical design (compare to sony modern design)
i prefer the zooms lens (convenience) while the large aperture seems quite common nowadays for all compact camera...
bulky is relative...for me its smaller than my Nikon D300s  smile.gif
extra couple of hundred bucks though  sweat.gif

was hoping can get x30 below RM1.5k after a year since its release
*
Oh ya, X30 got classic chrome film simulation, which is pretty nice smile.gif

Just go for it if you need a camera now, no point keep waiting for new camera.
