If price is right, and body in good condition, just grab it. For typical mechanical issues, send to Peugeot SC right away after you buy while under warranty. Then do recall program which will make your car feel like new. Seriously. It will also further extend your warranty until 2021. I hope you buy the turbo. The 2.0na is far too antique by today standards.

Have another option, get the sensors from Taobao, OEM only around RM20 per piece for the sensor..
I bought once,after replacing the faulty one, 2 weeks later different one became faulty..really like disease
One irritating thing about the fault is that once fault appears, engine goes into safe mode.. u will feel fear being held up longer

so far the faulty ones really due to fault..
it is very common issue for Peugeot cars to have faulty ABS sensor after years of usage...
but for me, it has been terrible experience.. even warranty claim units became faulty after 6 months of usage...
which triggers Peugeot to replace all 4 sensors.. worst part of it, once replaced all 4, all 4 became faulty with engine and gearbox fault..
so will need to visit them again to sort it out as previously replacement was done on Sat and due to limited time they unable to complete the troubleshooting..

i think 408 do not have aircond compressor recall ..
but i think will koyak .. is common for a 408 have koyak a aircond compressor..

Anyone know the reason that caused the rusty part (in a circle) is on the center of the disc rotor, both sides ? I just changed my front brake pads recently.

Checked by the workshop, that rusting area is due to uneven surface. So far I didn't experience any drop in braking performance.

The mechanic explained that can do skimming on the disc nut he said its a waste of money.

Maybe I try to drive for a period in order for the pad to break in with the surface.

I owned a Peugeot 408T since 2016. Very satisfying drive and good fuel consumption. Already driven 49,000 km todate. However, today something weird happened. After travelled from Johor to KL, I stop for car wash.

Suddenly just 5 km from home the car shuddered (bergegar) and then the engine dies off. Stop for few minutes, the car able to start but when engage to D the car were hesitant to move and the dies of again. Waited 10 minutes and the car able to move again, but once reach rome, I was having difficulties in reversing coz the car were hesitant to reverse (high tendency to die off and not moving in reverse).

Has called Peugeot Care, but since all centres are closed today, they asked me to call again tomorrow to arrange check.

What is the expected cause for this issue? Anyone experience the same issue? Already changed HPFP last year (recall), cooling coil & compressor (recall & warranty claim), and roof cloth (warranty claim).

I've been using 408 2.0 car since August 2012 (6 years now) and worst experience were on the aircond (4th year - cooling coil, condensor & 5th year - aircond blower motor) and unfortunate broken timing belt (3rd year - due to missed out replacement during 80k km mileage service but now had revised every 60k km)

Now experienced worn out totally on mounting bracket, shock absorber, etc at the engine (they are under wear & tear items so can't claim warranty - so cost about RM 3.6k). They have to bring down the engine and also have to change the drive shaft (this cost RM 1.8k). Total damage cost including top up aircond gas, labour, battery (somehow less 30% power can't reset the system, so have to buy panasonic DIN62L priced at RM 440) & other consumable parts for overall cost at RM 6.8k. Ughhhhh. Apparently SC PJ told me that these will happen every 6 years!!

No error come out. Will check with service centre soon. After went out from car wash still ok. Travelled around 10km only then the issue hapened.

Will not drive the car this week.

Not sure if it will be lighter as THP steering is electro hydraulic. I'm also keen on this size for better comfort & lower cost. Do feedback your expreience.

I changed from 225/45 MC5s to 235/45 Invos to 215/50  PS3s to 225/45 F1A2s and now I've settled at 215/50 Flevas.

Its more comfortable at 215/50, plus its cheaper too since 215/50 is a more common size. I'd definitely get the 215/50 PS4s for my next change.

The steering weight, I feel no difference between 225/45 and 215/50. One time I felt it become lighter is when the stupid SC filled it up with too much pressure almost 300kpa.

Changed my car Air Intake Grill (rubber lining had already worn off) with a used 308 Air Intake Grill which cost RM220 inclusive of installation. I got this used part from SAL Global Auto Parts at Jalan Subang 4.



And the windscreen Side Trim Rubber for both side. Bought from taobao including delivery charges at RM180. Seems easy to DIY the installation. Anyway, I paid RM30 for the installation fee at the same shop.
