Is it? You mean the one being sold now is slightly different from the existing 408 on road?Peugeot 408 Owners/ Fans Thread [V4], Motion & Emotion

QUOTE(Fongtology @ Jun 24 2016, 09:00 PM) Thanks for the sharing........ Frankly speaking i am not too sure what you can do with 1K to 2K other than routine maintenance of changing oil + filters + ATF + spark plugs + battery etc.So i'm just standby around 1k to 2k per year as maintenance budget will do............ Ok..... tomorrow onward will start go sourcing for 408 and test drive........ yuhoooooooooooooo... Best if you can get it mentally prepared. Maybe 5K/year is a decent number to start with, for a second hand 408 without warranty. Basically i think most, if not all 408 on second hand market are out of warranty, or have their warranty void. Don't take the words from those dealers. They know nothing about Peugeot cars & warranty. |

QUOTE(Ltsl @ Jul 7 2016, 07:57 AM) Tks for replying. It's stock Continental tyres. I thought wheel alignment would have been done when new car was delivered. Yes this car could easily go up to 170-180 if not for the vibration. Check wheel alignment. Find a tyre shop near highway so they can do the testing.Forget about SC. I think it is better to give RM60 to the tyre shop than wasting your whole day at SC without getting it solved. |

QUOTE(Ltsl @ Jul 7 2016, 09:10 AM) If the steering vibrates when you press the brake pedal at high speed, then it is the disc problem. If the steering vibrates when you reach high speed, then it is the wheel alignment issue (tyre could be a possibility as well). |

QUOTE(shirohamada @ Nov 2 2016, 07:19 PM) I have this Megane II for 8 years. There is no need to remove the front tyres to change the headlight bulbs. The changing process might be slightly different, but it is just as straightforward as any normal vehicles out there. Fifth gear was just trying to create funny story for better viewership. Only the Megane owners know this video is total bullshit. |

QUOTE(SKYjack @ Nov 6 2016, 10:51 PM) There is no history of ep6cdtm with this problem ever! More than 100 408thp owners registered at this 408 thread. As of now more than 15k posting at this thread. Not a single complaint of worn piston rings or high oil consumption. To be honest, no complaint doesn't mean no issue. Some owners prefer to be less vocal, maybe they prefer to read rather than to participate. If you look closely at the trend of participation for the last few years. Many owners are no longer here. My guess would be they have sold off their 408. |

QUOTE(Dovienya @ Nov 16 2016, 05:31 PM) Hi guys/gals... sorry to be noob here. was wondering about the recall programme. I'm buying a new 408 (make 2016). Does new car also included in the enhancement programme? if yes, can anyone point me to the correct location for me to check if I need to send my car in for enhancement after collection of the vehicle. Usually new 408 are not included in the enhancement programme. You can double check with CLIC. |

QUOTE(SKYjack @ Feb 6 2017, 11:41 AM) Bro, recommended oil viscosity for our engine is 0W-30 or 5W-30. 5w-40 can use also but maybe engine response a tad slow. SC is correct. It needs ~4.3 litres to be exact. You bought 5w-40 cos it is 5liter,right! I don't understand why we are conned, our engine only needs 4 liters. I only realised this after servicing outside. The mechanic gave me back 1liter. With 4liters in, I checked my dipstick, it was at the full mark! Don't understand why valve cover not claimable on EWP. This is part of engine. I just bought original valve head cover, gaskets and turbo inlet hose, at spare part shop, for $1150. Labour charge would be $150,going to fix this Sat. Likely your mechanic didn't drain completely. |

QUOTE(SKYjack @ Feb 6 2017, 05:05 PM) I don't see any benefit in him doing that. Neither he no me gain. Beside it's very messy to stop gravity oil drain once drain plug is removed. No mechanic in his right mind will mix contaminated oil with new oil! We as automotive parts sellers have database for reference, which is usually pretty accurate if data is available.Where did you get info 408thp requires 4.3liters engine oil? If not you can refer to some manufacturers which provide such reference. Here i provide an example: https://www.kroon-oil.com/en/product-recomm...mponent:351373/ |
