Meanwhile, Destini Berhad Group chairman, Tan Sri Rodzali Daud, in his speech during the cermony, said the company would build six patrol vessels, measuring 44.25 metres each, for MMEA, with Syarikat Destini Shipbuilding and Engineering Sdn Bhd entrusted to manage and administer the whole project.

A drone has crashed in south-west Iran, the regional governor has told the Fars news agency.

It was not clear if the drone, which crashed near Shush city, in Khuzestan province on Friday, had been shot down by Iran or failed due to technical problems.

An Air Force Research Laboratory-sponsored X-56A unmanned air vehicle crashed Nov. 19 at approximately 9:30 Pacific Daylight Time on Rogers Dry Lakebed test range at Edwards AFB, California. The mishap occurred shortly after takeoff.

ANKARA (Reuters) - Turkish F-16 fighter jets shot down a war plane of unknown origin on Tuesday after it violated Turkish air space close to the Syrian border and ignored warnings, a Turkish military official told Reuters.

Separately, Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu's office said he had spoken with the chief of military staff and the foreign minister about developments on the border. The statement did not mention the downed jet.

The crash occurred duing "routine operational training", the ari force said in a statement.

A second pilot survived, the statement said.

Four Army aviators were killed when their UH-60 Black Hawk crashed Monday evening on Fort Hood, Texas, officials said.

The helicopter crashed sometime after 5:49 p.m. Central time in the northeast portion of the Fort Hood Range. The crew was on a routine training mission at the time of the crash.

KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) — Taliban insurgents on Tuesday ambushed a military-contracted helicopter that made an emergency landing in northwestern Afghanistan, killing three people in a shootout and capturing 16 others who were on board, Afghan officials said.

Defense Ministry spokesman Dawlat Waziri confirmed the helicopter had gone down in Faryab province, which has been the scene of heavy fighting between the Taliban and Afghan security forces. He would not say where the helicopter was headed or who was on board, and it was not immediately clear why the helicopter was forced to land there.

But an army officer in Faryab, insisting on anonymity because he was not authorized to talk to the media the media, said the civilian aircraft had been contracted to transport army personnel. The 49th Wing has confirmed there were no injuries involved when an F-16 Fighting Falcon crashed today at approximately 8:45 a.m. northwest of Salinas Peak near Truth or Consequences, N.M.

The crash site is in a remote location in rugged terrain. Travel to the crash site is discouraged until further notice.
The pilot successfully ejected and was transported to a local medical facility.

An armed U.S. Air Force MQ-9 Reaper drone crashed in a remote area near Bagram Air Field Tuesday night, military officials said.

The $14 million remotely piloted aircraft went down at about 7:10 p.m., according to an Air Force statement issued Wednesday.

“There is no indication of injuries or damage to civilian property as a result of the crash,” the statement said. “The cause of the crash is currently under investigation, but enemy fire was not a factor.”

The aircraft was operated out of Kandahar Air Field, more than 300 miles away in southern Afghanistan, by the 451st Air Expeditionary Group, part of the 455th Air Expeditionary Wing, said wing spokesman Capt. Bryan Bouchard.

“The aircraft went down in a remote area away from any civilian population centers and it was a total loss,” Bouchard said. “The munitions on board were also destroyed with the aircraft.” Citing the total destruction of the Reaper, officials decided that it “did not necessitate a physical securing of the site,” he said.
