Based on initial Prospectus, the returns is benchmark against 5 yrs MGS which is around 4%
Thus, a lot of investors avoid AS1M
*
Yape, do you think that with the lower earnings carried forward to next year, AS1M would be subjected to lower returns?

Just curious and want to get some views and opinions on this?

Basically i am losing some confidence on AS1M but i still believe the dividends would still be competitive above 6%..

that's the banks main intention. they don't want u to withdraw & deposit into FP ASx  icon_rolleyes.gif

Banks are now targeting more on increasing deposits in CASA (current accounts and saving accounts), and fixed deposits.

As such, managers and assistant managers have higher pressure to push for higher deposits compared to the deposits in FP in ASX..

So frankly speaking, those branch managers would hope you not even touch the fixed deposits.. ^^

I don't think it's 4mil units. should be rm 4mil.

one don't go to financial planner & say I got 4mil units in UT right  rolleyes.gif

kpfun can help out  icon_rolleyes.gif
*
Yape, saying a total units does not reflect the total market value..

My total units for my Manulife is a lot, but the market value is not much comparable to the units held..

The information from AR 2015 (ASW2020) stated that dividends received would not be taxed due to the single tier taxation practice since 2008..

As such, I believe that the exemption on tax for income distribution would not longer be an issue..

QUOTE(Hansel @ Nov 4 2015, 11:23 PM)
That's the tickle here - if ASW2020 has this loan facility thing for some people. then this would be the second point supporting the fact that the ASW2020 might be safe from a conversion, similar to the ASB and the ASB2.

Bear in mind that for the ASM and the AS1M - there is no loan facility tied to their units being used as collaterals.
*
I am assuming that both ASW2020 and AS1M might be saved from conversion from FP to VP because in ASW2020, there is an EPU loan related and in AS1M, there is a Sara1Malaysia loan.. Those loans are government initiatives..

On the other hand, ASM does not have any loan products of government initiative.. so quite reasonable to say that this fund would be the first to convert to VP if fixed price funds are to convert to variable price funds.

been wanting to ask... not sure if its personal. but, those who dont mind sharing, how many percent you have in SA, FD, ASNB, UT? is it safe to have like SA-20%, ASNB-80%? like whats your rule of thumb here.

feel like transferring all FD to ansb. not sure.
*
My portfolio allocation:-

ASNB : 95% on FP UT
Other UT: 3% on Other Variable UT
Savings : 2%

Other overseas investment not included..

maybe ASNB is thinking if economoy bad next few years KLCI drop, and many FP members withdraw, they will be in trouble to commit as their investment could easily lose half the value but per unit price is still RM1.
*
Most of us are not worried because in their previous reply to our queries, they stated that the conversion is not easy as it involves national interest.

To me, if they really convert it to VP, i will just withdraw all of the funds.. No issue.. ^^

I heard from an officer that as1m system right now does not allow people to trial and error to bank in money but only allow for withdrawal..

Wa lao, it really makes me think that it is better to take the time now to just try whenever we can before more restrictions are there to obstruct us from trying over the counter..

However, exemption applies to high networth clients / private banking clients.

Lol.. Surprising as this was the feedback from an officer in Pos Office..

And also many agents are not really keen on assisting to top up for ASM due to the implementation of the new system (unless they are free with less customers)..

I heard from an officer last time that ASM new system very tedious as compared to the old system..

yup. better not to have more than 60% 1 fund ie AS1M 60%, ASM &  ASW 40% each  sweat.gif

good is 33% each  laugh.gif

My ASM holdings are stagnant at the moment also because I was also told that the system quite tedious for the tellers to try out. As normally my trial is only a small amount, now I would just try my ASW2020, and AS1M followed by ASM as the last account to try.

But currently, AS1M represents the highest holdings compared to the others, while ASW2020 represents the most lowest holdings.

Maybe I should try to put more effort on ASW2020 since the holdings are quite low..

There was one thing that was pondering in my mind..

Just curious.. ASM is now using the new system, so will AS1M and ASW2020 be also using the new system and new passbook?

Any idea on this? As for the implementation of the new system, it become more tedious for the counter to do trial compared to AS1M and ASW2020 which uses the old system..
