Indonesia - Jakarta
Was there for a business trip. So didn't get to travel around, just that I got sick there

It's a place for business anyway. So if you want to visit those tourists' attractions, it doesn't have much to offer.

But it is indeed a comfortable modern city where taxis are easy to find and shopping malls are everywhere smile.gif

Visited:

Sweden
My home country. Kinda cold. People are kinda inwards. Very clean. Go there for the nice environment.

Denmark
Nice people and cheap beer!

UK
Only been in London. Didn't stay there for to long. Looked nice.

France
Was in Chamonix to snowboard. Great hills. They don't want to speak english though. So it can be kinda though!

Switzerland
Nice country but kinda expensive.

Italy
Was in Sicily. The famous Maffia-island. Nice weather and scenery.

Austria
Went there for snowboard. Also really nice hills and more beer-friendly than France smile.gif

Germany
Went to Berlin and some other towns. They dub everything on tv so it sux. I like the country but they don't really have any nice scenery. All germans come to Sweden to see elks and the scenery tongue.gif

Poland
Only a short trip. Don't have any comments.

Singapore
Clean, nice. Not so cheap as KL.

Malaysia
Been here many times. First time I was less than one years old! Love the food, warm atmosphere, friendliness and lively KL. Driving here is not that fun though tongue.gif Not a fan of all the bureaucracy

Thailand
Was in bangkok. Kinda dirty. Cheap stuff. To many tourists!

Want to go:
Japan
USA
Australia

I never wanted it to be a bragging thread.

That's why in the very first post I've mentioned to put in description rather than the list only. So bragging or not is really how you wanna perceive it.

Perhaps, but most of the people aren't doing that, and phrases like 'nice place', 'good food' 'slow life' are too generic a term.

Writing a 300 words paragraph for each destination is probably a bit too overdone...that's why I tried to make it shorter (and also not everybody like you can come out with bombastic terms)

As said before, this thread is meant to be a sharing thread. Regarding whether or not people are bragging here, is a very subjective matter. Even if they do, I don't see it as harmful

Thanks for your comment anyway smile.gif

It doesn't need to be bombastic or flowery or what not. One or two lines would be great; I (and many others, I am sure) don't have time to read essays. It makes it more personal (and helps remove any bragging) and it makes you really think about your trip. northasian and goliath (and a couple of others as well) made some reasonable attempts!

But still, I don't see anything wrong with nice scenery and friendly people. The scenery were indeed nice and people were indeed friendly. I can't really find more specific term to explain these two.

Perhaps, but yes like you said its all subjective. Person A might find place 1 exciting but another person would find place 1 boring because its not their thing or they have been to place 2 which is even more exciting.

Just one request, actually. Could everyone put in the year of visit? Because a place (especially in places like China) would have changed drastically over the years.

In fact, I could be more fussy and even ask how old you were when you visit (the perspective of a 15 year old differs from a 20 year old and a 40 year old), but that's pushing it a bit too far.

Thanks for your suggestion, I'll see what I can do about it.

And regarding the year, for me, they all happened in these two years so I don't think there's any great change laugh.gif
