i wonder.. is it because of the insane phase/vrm config atm that contributing to super stable power delivery by distributing the heat...
ASUS
EXTREME 16x90A
FORMULA/APEX 16x70A
HERO 14+2 x 60A
STRIX 14+2 x 50A
MSI GODLIKE 16+1 x 90A
MSI ACE 16 + 1 x 90A
MSI UNIFY 16 x 90A
MSI UNIFY ITX 8 x 90A
GIGA EXTREME/WATERFORCE/MASTER - 16 x 90A
GIGA MASTER - 14 x 90A
GIGA AUROUS ULTRA - 12 x 55A
ASROCK Taichi 12+3 x 50A
the numbers are just nuts... for a possible 300w cpu.
some of the vrm/phases are like those on the refreshed x299 / TRX4
MSI going all out with 90Amps
just for comparison
the z390 formula hd like 8+2 phase 50A....

Those phases might be overkill, perhaps we don't even need more than 12 phases for LN2 LOL
Look at EVGA Z490 DARK, it will have just 12 x 60A probably to destroy those 16-phase boards.
But I believe to cater for insanely OCed 10-core 10900K, hence the 90A is there for robust supply of power, high effectiveness and good quality MOSFETs for better heat tolerances.
BTW, it's been a long while since we last heard about OCF, where's Nick Shih?
