Every week at least 1 of my guppy die. Any expert can advise?

Some suicide by jumping out fr the tank, some just emo & die slowly. Now my tank left with 2 brand new guppies which i just bought. The rest all RIP.

1.5ft tank.
6-8 guppies.
Feed 2 times a day.
With standard water filter.
Tank with a bit of stones n 1 small fake plant.
Weekly change water, at least 50% of water.
Always prepare 1 pail of water with anti clorin, overnight for 3 days.
Clean my water filter, once every 2 weeks n replace sponge.
Lights are on at night for 12 hours.
Sometimes will change 20% of water n put some salt.

Anything wrong?

for a start, the bolded, put a sponge filter into the pail, air pump it for 24 hours, then it is good to go already. 2 days is already more than enough for the water to be safe for use.

what filter are you using? i'm only using sponge filter, don't have other type of filter also. i suspect, in your tank, already got some kind of virus brought in by your guppies, or even the fake plant, should be washed before use. how often do you change water? when i'm free, I used to 30% water daily, or about 50% every 2 days, or about 70-80% water every 3-4 days. keep the condition of the water good to keep your guppies healthy.

no need to put salt unless there's sick fish inside. after water change, put salt then don't feed for 2 days. see how it goes. or you can quarantine your sick fish. but if i were you, i will start all over again, as in, clear all the tank, clean it, put water into it, let it run for at least 2-3 days with sponge filter before introducing any fishes.  good luck.
indirect sunlight could also caused green water. green water doesn't mean it is not good, it's good for fishes too, but you cannot see them only. can try doing large water change and see how it goes. what kind of plant are they?

I changed 50% of the tank water once a week.

I usually leave my treated water for almost 5 days before i put into the tank.

Using normal sponge filter.

i change about 50% every 2-3 days.

5 days imo is a bit too long already.

U meant it's not recommended to use the treated water after so many days?

Best practise is to use it by 48hrs?

sorry I'm not familiar with corydoras. perhaps others who know can help you on this.

but xian leng is definitely not easy to get there if by public transport. their place used to be super big. now that they moved, probably around half the size maybe?

Where is Xian Leng now?

it depends on what's your main concern. small tanks like how small? plastic or glass?
a 2ft 3 compartments tank cost you 50bucks. but a 3 individual tanks that make up a 2ft in total size may cost you 40 bucks each = 120 bucks total.

i dont think it is cheaper.
*
I think in short -

For breeding purpose, go for cheapest.
For display, the sky is your limit.

Donkey years ago when i was young, used to catch those longkang fish n breed it. Until years ago, i did some research n found those pure strains.

I guess to most people, Guppy = Longkang fish.
