was using kaspersky for quite long already, at lease better than other AV back when my school time. Every AV fail to detect virus in computer lab.
Except kaspersky and avast. I choose kaspersky because avast interface and ads lol. |

i don't care about the bad rep that Kaspersky gets, but it is a proven working tool. my pc is able to run it and my programs just fine. those that complains about sluggish performance are obviously using subpar spec'ed pc(unfortyunately that is true for most cases, hence kaspersky gets bad rep)
also, while it is just fine to just use without any AV installed, but one small slip up and gg your pc. so it's best to just have one in case. just because you you don't drive on unpaved road doesn't mean you can just not bring any spare tyres right? PS : i read an article before that kaspersky spread a fake malware to trigger other AV programs. while this may sound like a terrible thing to do, but their reason was due to the other AV companies using kaspersky's research/database and not contributing their own. |

I use the stock Windows Defender - it's plenty fast and easy to work with.

QUOTE(mdnOor @ Sep 21 2015, 11:09 AM) Isn't that is the AV that cheats in benchmark?http://www.theregister.co.uk/2015/05/01/ch..._rivals_engine/ even the company itself doesn't trust their product lol This post has been edited by failed.hashcheck: Sep 21 2015, 09:43 PM |

No problems here - except when using profiles - some software is treated as a game and loads the game profile. And occasionally IDS would turn off and I cant turn it back on - requiring repair. |

Im using Panda free at the moment, detection are good and light in resources.
but it slow down greatly when I transfer lot of data to pendirve, or when extracting file. Also it mess up my HoN (Games )file when patching I had to disable it first. Going to uninstall back for sure. |

QUOTE(ktek @ Oct 16 2015, 11:11 AM) after so many year, im still fixing client pc affected with virus even though they have various branded anti virus installed. as long as users don't change their mindsets, nothing will change. however i don't agree that av is useless. it's a part of an effective system protection measure, in which as a whole, will help minimize associated risks more effectively. it's a bare minimum for a computer protection.useless thing |
