You have to understand Malaysian standard and oversea standard.. i score very well in malaysia.. and i did equally well oversea. .. i can tell you when oversea. .... technically you need to discard everything you learnt and start from basic.. if you are flexible enuf you are ok.. i see my frens whom hold on tight to what they were taught in malaysia almost perished.. you have to understand some stuff you learnt in secondary school are "outdated".. some irrelevant.. and here english not really that important.. but its everything when its oversea.. ppl speak english with accents and stuff.. if you cant pick up the english and understand you are as good as dead.. most of my frens can't really hold a proper English conversation with the lecturers. .. some just mmhmm.. mhhmmm.. when i chit chat with the lecturers and joke around and only to ask me what we chat about so interesting. .. so i not surprised some top scorers in Malaysia find it hard to cope there... in college time i had this china guy who really struggle.. he have to use a digital translator to translate the qs to Chinese and then only can do the maths.. and most of the time the translation is not really correct. .. he almost failed in his exam every test... and one time i told him his translation is wrong since i can hear his device talking... he shocked i can speak mandarin.. and i told him and translate for him... pity him keep scratching his head behind me .. and once i told him what the qs says.. he automatically do it like kindergarden qs.. and he told me he is those.. ermm.. xing shuan... heart calculation expert when he was in china.. give him watever number and any plus minus times divide and even power and stuff.. just tell him figure and when i finish he terus tell me the answer and damn accurate lo... but coz of English he actually dint pass.... so.... don't worry. .. how you do now will not reflect how you do later.. i first hand experience since i study oversea quite long.. and i do meet a lot of smart ppl who can't survive due to environment changes and i also meet a fair share of ppl whom i deemed no hope but still pass.. i even know one guy everynight drunk and every morning late and not sober and hide at the back and sleep all the time and still pass..

it is the same... you have to understand in malaysia we have a spoon feeding education.. everything must be handed out to the students... if not the student die... oversea is different.. they teach you what you need to know.. ie.. basics.. and then expect you to be able to apply it to advance level.. for example.. here they will give you all the figure like gravity = bla bla bla.. mass equals bla bla bla.. distance equals bla bla bla.. and you just plug it into the equation... oversea they will teach you so.. but in exam you have to hunt for the value.. they will throw in some hints here and there and you have to use logic to figure it out..

i give you an example but biology ah.. coz i remember that one the most.. i was top in my class for biology when i was in malaysia.. so i can tell you i definitely know my stuff well... over there.. they teach you this compound can kill what oganism and stuff... if you got this infection you use these these these as they are sensitive to it.. of coz we have to remember most of it in our head.. and when the day of exam.. practical exam..... the qs i got was.. a fish has an eye infection (i study human one... and some how i suppose to know some about animals... but fish is definitely not in my syllabus.... but when i dispute after exam... the lecturers say i should know my "biology" well and fishes are included).. they say the fish eyes swollen and shows me a picture (i dint know we suppose to recognise the characteristics of infections as well) and the lecturer ask me to make "something" for the fish and counsel on how to use it on the fish... of coz my basic is quite well... and i manage to whip up an antibiotic eye drop on the spot without much of a problem... and i got 30% full for it.. and then comes the next part.... how to give it to the fish.... and i think think think.. and i said take out the fish and just drop it on the eye and wait for a while for it to sink in? and i kena red card terus... -70% for wrong application and another further ban for the next exam coz i "killed" the fish... damn.. that was a harsh punishment..

of coz i told you i dispute the qs.. but the lecturer says i need to know the realms of animals as well.. and i argue but i am studying the realms of human... and he argue i am in "advance level" type of biology.. not those kindergarden.. its uni level... i should know them as well.. at least some basics.. and when i try to argue again he actually says.. look young man.. how stupid are you? you catch a sick fish out of its habitat.. you got a brain right? and worse you drop the eye drops on the eyes of the fish? and then what? wait for it to sink in like 5 minutes? why dont i pull you into the water and rub some eye ointment on your eyes and let you hang out in the water with a beer for 5 minutes... you are here to kill the fish or help the fish? how stupid can you get? you deserve the ban for the next exam.. and i terus speechless... and i ask him for the answer and he says.. go and find out for yourself.. what age are you? 3?... you are a uni student and the very basic you can do is find an answer to a question that can be found daily happening in the world.. of coz on the way out of the practical room... i was so sad but when i walk past the next examination room........... i laughed quite loud.. the guy inside was scolded coz he also killed a fish.. but instead of eye drops.. he got a pessary and he say find the fish's genital and insert it in.... the fish was a gold fish (at max 5cm long) and the pessary is 2.5cm long... and i laughed so loud coz its obvious that is wrong.. and the fish confimed KO.... and... thats a real story... and that is how oversea ppl expect you to use "your brain".. of coz you dont have to worry now as they will help you along the way and they will train you to use your brain and be more logical and common sense.. not like local one where they tell you think A think B and if C happens which is outside of what they teach you... you blur....

i agree.. i do quite well in my studies... but yet i still fail in life and cannot even kao miromiro .... what a failure i am

wont one lar.. he so smart one.. i used to have lecturer like that... we test him... he mark by weighing how heavy is our report... one fella so daring he actually wrote one sentence "you are an idiot" somewhere in the report but he bullshit like 20 pages on the paper.. got touch a bit here and there but mainly rubbish.. and he got quite high marks for his paper.. lol.. so since then we use font 13 instead of 12.. we use 1.5 spacing instead of single spacing for our work...

oh.. i had my fair share with docs locally as well... a few times already i heard the docs (different docs) saying need to amputate due to what what what reason.. each time i had a look by chance.. i laugh and say not need and tell them go find this do that... and usually it recover by itself =.="hmm... i think they are just doing what the book tells them to and the easiest way out... got problem... potong~~~... no problem? potong jugak~!

"Passion" does not mean it can feed you. . It also doesn't mean you can't do it as leisure... you still need a stable income. .. if you are having so much difficulty in study. .. maybe study is not for you... you need to know your strength vs weakness too... maybe books is not for you. .. then its better to change and try something else. .. maybe technical school? Or some other hands on work. .. and you seems a bit stubborn. ... please consider the possibility of you are more fitting in a different path. .. and what you like or passion can change as you grow... maybe you haven't found your passion yet... some ppl reach old age only know what they really passionate about. .. and i will tell you. .. you are still too young to know a lot of things. .. just consider the possibility of other path more suitable for you. .. if you had so much trouble with one. .. you can try another path since you are still young. .. as i say. .. not all passion can feed you. .. if not then find one way to feed yourself. .. and only later come back to this passion. ..

100% agree. . Leave it as passion and find a way to feed yourself first and i think your dad knows better or maybe he sees something in you and want you to test it out. .. it's not like he trying to kill you or anything. .. stop being stubborn. .
