erm, i really don't recommend u to wash your backplate without desoldering the switches and separating the pcb.
unless there's oil or food or "sticky substance" stuck to your plate, then you should consider doing cleaning to your backplate.
one way you can do this is by using Q-tip cotton swabs dipped with cleaning solution (not too much) and gently rub it on the area you wish to clean.
it might be tedious, but it's less tedious compared to desoldering all the switches.
if it's just dust and hair, using brush to brush them off is good enough.

And FYI, backplate cant be removed without desolder every single switches of the keyboard first, it is only mean to be removed when you are doing a total overhaul.
