well, i played with mech keyboard before from my friend. very nice to type using the key. i believe its brown switch, Ducky Shine 2 if not mistaken.

aww sheesh man, that's a mechanical keyboard alright, just that it's a different type of switch, QS1.
easy on the trigger will ya? 

-Hzu- to be honest when i saw the spacebar, my first instinct is to run away LOL! when i see it's not cherry mx or mx compatible switch, i also run away because one of my main interest is changing keycaps set.
though i'm curious as to how it feels...is that yours?

Then you don't know about this keyboard. I'm not talking about the lame SteelSeries Apex which is obviously a rubber dome or membrane (I can't remember), this is the Apex M800 which uses their own QS1 switch. The switch is light as a feather and really short in height too. It's so light that I can't almost feel what I'm typing, which is kinda annoying. And yup, not MX compatible. The spacebar freaked me out too when I first saw it.

Neither do I lol. The keycaps feels very thin and as expected, it's purely for bling-bling. They claimed it as the most programmable mechanical keyboard, maybe just the backlighting is the most programmable, I don't know. I didn't spend too much time on it, but yeah I can't play snake and minesweeper on the keyboard. So they weren't lying, perhaps?

What can I say though, it's a keyboard targeted for the "gaming" community. Most of them don't even care about the switches, how it feels and whether or not those keyboards have any impacts on their typing experience but just only for the bling-bling. When we talk about a keyboard, they all scream RGB and the software to modify the backlighting right now. It's sad lol, makes me wonder what does that have anything to do with gaming at all.

yea..the brown switch is just nice to the force i used..prefer blue switch cause of the clicky sounds though   

different user have different preference..that's why they have various type of switches..

well, now on tight budget, maybe need to wait few more months see whether i can afford >RM300 mech keyboard. now still researching regarding the keys.

yea...realize it too seeing the price of those common keyboards. that's why i need to wait few more months to be able to afford one  .

what i thought of also. now happy with model m. looking forward for my first custom.

If you don't have one, you can't officially graduate from beginner to pro

I prefer the look of your top plate over the current Massdrop one

Don't those tall bolts get in the way? I'd personally choose screws that are flush with the top plate

As for keycaps... Looks like Ergodox users got very limited choice: either blanks or Granite zzz

Anything particular in mind? SA GB for ergodoxian kit always seems to miss the MOQ zzz

fist week with my new keyboard and one of the key does not click anymore 

my 'O' key now feels like rubber dome with tactile feeling, after it goes down, it comes back up very slowly and loses it's click sound
