Guys, simple question here. Does it make a difference where I get my WoW starter pack from? It seems like it is going real cheap in places other than Malaysia. I saw it being sold for 40 Singapore dollars at Sim Lim Square, and USD20 on Amazon.com.

Thanks for your patience.

ie Is there a difference if you buy from the US or Singapore or Malaysia? Is there such thing as a US version of the game, or Asian version of the game? Thx!

IIRC , there are many versions of WoW. I've seen version of US, Taiwan, etc. However, if you were to buy from Amazon, its probably gonna be the US version.

The price difference is caused by middle man jacking up the price for their own profit. For the best deal now is to purchase the game online using your credit card through Blizzard.

As for the retail version, all the retailers here are selling WoW that plays in US servers. As far as I know, there is 4 places where their servers are located. US, UK, China and Korea.

There won't be any different if you purchase WoW in Singapore or Malaysia, because it all connects to the US server smile.gif

Hope that clears things up for you.

Thanks for the clarification guys. So to confirm, I would be safe to buy from Amazon.com eh? (I'm more inclined to play on the US servers, since Singapore and Malaysia connects to US servers).

You have to download the client. So that means if you buy it online, you won't get the CDs, the manual and the box.

Afterall, you are paying for just the serial numbers only tongue.gif

calventeh -> When I signed up for the 10day trial.. it gives me the option to buy the game from them.. when I say buy the game.. it means the Registration Key..

so.. when u buy from Blizzard.. all u get is the Registration Key.. the game u have to download your self.. when u register for an account.. put in the Registration Key that u purchase from them and then you are off..

IF u buy the retail WoW game by cash.. you will get the CDs (5 of them).. the manual.. their product catalog.. and what really matters.. the Registration Key (which is printed on the hard cover CD case)

There are only 4 version of the game around the world as of now, US, Europe, China and Korea. Just make sure when you get your pack is the one you want to play on. I'm pretty sure it states which version it is on the box itself.
