1. any, preferably dell or any with decent warranty service
2. any, preferably around rm2000-4000
3. regular office use. no gaming.
- IPS
- 4/8GB ram is ok
- ill install my own ssd
- lightweight, hopefully below 2kg, but around there is fine
- 5th/6th generation processor, hopefully 6th generation
4. screen size 12-15" is ok
*
Get the business class ones?

Vostro, HP Elite Book and those office ranges.

At least those come with on site support + decent warranty since you are using for office work mostly.

Good idea, but I would prefer to keep the new laptop warranty n mod later. Buying a ssd n install ourselves cheaper o buy 1 that comes with ssd more value?

Tq for your suggestion
*
Removing HDD don't usually void warranty.

But the issue would be, you need to trouble yourself to install the SSD inside a laptop.

Only way to get ultra high is to pay an ultra high pricing.

Maybe you can highlight that to him tongue.gif

We should ask, Ultra high on what game 1st?

If Crysis, better use the money for a PC laugh.gif

Yea, just read about the skylake and it looks awesome to me  hmm.gif will wait for few more weeks till dell posts the model on the web. Just worry about the price will go sky high  cry.gif or else i will go back to 7447...
i got it from techhypermarket and i copied it wrongly. It should be 3.4k after discount ... paiseh paiseh tongue.gif

Skylake's more to power efficiency.

And don't do rubbish things like not eating properly just to buy a laptop.

Dear forumer..need some info please..i saw this laptop at lyp n i think it got enough spec for my need and within my budget. The specs are

ASUS Transformer Book Flip tp500ln

Description: Intel i5-5200U Processor, 15.6 FHD 1920x1080(GL,LED) Screen, 4G DDR3 1600 memory, x1 extra Ram slot, 500GB 5400R SATA + 24G MSATA SSD, 2GB NVIDIA® GeForce® 940M, USB 3.0, HD Webcam, 48WHrs, 3S1P, 3-cell battery, Windows 8.1 ready

Anybody have any xperience with this model. How bout the build quality. Really want to avoid facing the customer service for repair.

Or can you suggest me other model that have equal spec and within my budget RM2500.

Thank you
*
Lenovo U41 comes with SSD at that price range.

There are some Dell models too for reliability, mostly Vostro and etc.

Thank you for suggestion.. Dell 5480 seem good but above budget..

If my usage is for autocad, hd movie, excell, sometime csgo.. Can the spec handle them..

Thinking to upgrade the hdd to ssd and the current hdd make as external hdd .. Can it be done?

I more consern with the heat and the build quality. Is asus customer care really bad overall or just at some location.
*
Autocad?

You'll need i7 for those programs, if you want performance wise.

More rams help too.

As for SSD, the cheapest 120gb might not be enough for you.

It can be done but please check if there's a warranty sticker on the HDD part there to prevent any risk of voiding your warranty.

As for Asus, well. It's just bad. laugh.gif

Guys. Been holding on too long now. Never buy a good laptop so a bit confuse when reading sssoooo much review in these forums.

Acer v nitro has heating problem.
Asus rog has bad cstmer service
Lenovo y has bad screen.

I just play dota, do some photoshop, n sometimes use for vdeo editing.

Budget around 3-4k only.

Really2 confuse right now. Plus most of the price that i saw in these forums are a lil cheaper from what i see on the internet, like in lazada, or techhypermart. Y eh? Is it bcoz price in lowyat is a lil bit cheaper?

Please suggest one laptop that is good enuf, with reasonable price.. Bcoz this is my first time and i dunno what criteria shuld i look for.

Thanks so so so so much guys.
*
Not looking at Clevo based laptop?

I think Tech Armory has it.

If you want to do photoshop and video editing, I honestly suggest you to look for old stock MBP 15" with a dedicated GPU. Much better performance in terms of photoshop and video editing.

A 13" RMBP would cost 4k-ish before the price hike.

QUOTE(jrlogger @ Oct 19 2015, 09:49 PM)
1. Preferred Brand - prefer dell, but okay with any but acer
2. Budget - around rm3500, can top up a bit if worth it
3. Usage - Word, excel, general browsing/videos, Photoshop and perhaps the occasional indie game/football manager, otherwise no gaming.
4. Preferred
a) 13-14 inches
b) light weight as will be traveling often
c) good battery life.. Prefer last one whole working day.
d) good keyboard and  prefer metal build quality.. Need to last
e) 8gb ram and ssd

Was looking at the ux305, but unsure about the core m processor. Don't want the performance to drop in the future.

Do you guys think it is worth waiting for skylake?

Thanks in advance.  smile.gif
*
Skylake does not offer much performance increase, more like power efficiency.

And for mobile processors, I think the increase performance is almost insignificant.

I would suggest a Mac for general usage but since the price hike, it's nearly impossible to own one nowadays laugh.gif

A Dell would be good. Look for something like Vostro or business line laptops for heavy duty work and reliability.

QUOTE(kingvxx @ Oct 19 2015, 10:27 PM)
1. Preferred Brand: any
2. Budget: RM 2500
3. Usage: uni work\gaming
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: any

I'm hoping to purchase a laptop that can play witcher 3 with the highest fps possible at mid graphics in that budget constraints. I know the game is pretty high demanding so any help would be really appreciated. Thanks!
*
Highest FPS at medium with 2,5k? Medium is pretty taxing already tbh.

Have you check the minimum requirement? If yes, medium won't cut it unless you're running a 950M / 960M

And those laptops ain't cheap..

QUOTE(mik33mo @ Oct 20 2015, 01:00 AM)
Any sifu got recommendation?

1. Preferred Brand: Illegear / Gigabyte / Asus ROG
2. Budget: Less than 6.5k
3. Usage: Gaming (mostly Dota2, AVA and some RPGs)
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: 15.6"
5. Priority: Heat issues and future upgrades. weight <4kgs as i travel around alot. and after sales service.

I heard that clevo based laptops with MXM slots are able to upgrade their GPU and CPU in the future. However, with skylake 6th gen emerging, should I still stick with Haswell / Broadwell or should I just go for Z170,skylake supported motherboard. Hoping to get a laptop that can last me at least 5~10years with GPU and CPU upgrades in time. Any suggestions?

Currently my options are:- (if there is any better options please advice)

I'm looking for a cheap cheap laptop but with decent spec.

Looking at this:
Lenovo Z4070-59436166, (Lelong selling RM 1,759.00)
Intel® Core™ i5-4210U Processor
14" FHD
4GB DDR3
NVIDIA GeForce GT820M DDR3 2GB

So cheap with FUD screen. Any laptop got better spec at similar price?
*
Lenovo usually cheapest and best specs laugh.gif

But build quality is hit and miss.

IF you get a lemon unit, you're in trouble.

Side note : It's a U processor, so you might not get as much power outta it compared to a standard processor.

Recommended to get at least 8gb ram / SSD

Asus? I hated their aftersales services. But that's my personal opinion. GL522VW is a solid machine no doubt.

Pick the one you like the most and get it? You can head to Oval Damansara to view the Illegear and somewhere in Subang to view the Clevo.
