Guys. Been holding on too long now. Never buy a good laptop so a bit confuse when reading sssoooo much review in these forums.
Acer v nitro has heating problem.
Asus rog has bad cstmer service
Lenovo y has bad screen.
I just play dota, do some photoshop, n sometimes use for vdeo editing.
Budget around 3-4k only.
Really2 confuse right now. Plus most of the price that i saw in these forums are a lil cheaper from what i see on the internet, like in lazada, or techhypermart. Y eh? Is it bcoz price in lowyat is a lil bit cheaper?
Please suggest one laptop that is good enuf, with reasonable price.. Bcoz this is my first time and i dunno what criteria shuld i look for.
Thanks so so so so much guys.
Not looking at Clevo based laptop?
I think Tech Armory has it.
If you want to do photoshop and video editing, I honestly suggest you to look for old stock MBP 15" with a dedicated GPU. Much better performance in terms of photoshop and video editing.
A 13" RMBP would cost 4k-ish before the price hike.

1. Preferred Brand - prefer dell, but okay with any but acer
2. Budget - around rm3500, can top up a bit if worth it
3. Usage - Word, excel, general browsing/videos, Photoshop and perhaps the occasional indie game/football manager, otherwise no gaming.
4. Preferred
a) 13-14 inches
b) light weight as will be traveling often
c) good battery life.. Prefer last one whole working day.
d) good keyboard and prefer metal build quality.. Need to last
e) 8gb ram and ssd
Was looking at the ux305, but unsure about the core m processor. Don't want the performance to drop in the future.
Do you guys think it is worth waiting for skylake?
Thanks in advance.

Skylake does not offer much performance increase, more like power efficiency.
And for mobile processors, I think the increase performance is almost insignificant.
I would suggest a Mac for general usage but since the price hike, it's nearly impossible to own one nowadays

A Dell would be good. Look for something like Vostro or business line laptops for heavy duty work and reliability.

1. Preferred Brand: any
2. Budget: RM 2500
3. Usage: uni work\gaming
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: any
I'm hoping to purchase a laptop that can play witcher 3 with the highest fps possible at mid graphics in that budget constraints. I know the game is pretty high demanding so any help would be really appreciated. Thanks!
Highest FPS at medium with 2,5k? Medium is pretty taxing already tbh.
Have you check the minimum requirement? If yes, medium won't cut it unless you're running a 950M / 960M
And those laptops ain't cheap..

Any sifu got recommendation?
1. Preferred Brand: Illegear / Gigabyte / Asus ROG
2. Budget: Less than 6.5k
3. Usage: Gaming (mostly Dota2, AVA and some RPGs)
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: 15.6"
5. Priority: Heat issues and future upgrades. weight <4kgs as i travel around alot. and after sales service.
I heard that clevo based laptops with MXM slots are able to upgrade their GPU and CPU in the future. However, with skylake 6th gen emerging, should I still stick with Haswell / Broadwell or should I just go for Z170,skylake supported motherboard. Hoping to get a laptop that can last me at least 5~10years with GPU and CPU upgrades in time. Any suggestions?
Currently my options are:- (if there is any better options please advice)
