this only happens if the paint not fully dried and another layer put on top of it, different freshness of lacquer layer contracted differently during paint curing causing cracks.

need to confirm whether the layer is to thick to dry within hours?

some also argues can spray require dip in warm water and shake at least 30s to 1 min before spray but im an ab painter so cant confirm that.

I don't know, previous batch where i spray lacquer on top of acrylic, same batch, i notice the later ones i sprayed all had cracks, and the time gap is only less than 1 minute. Never had issues with spray cans until i used this Nippon can coz i saw it in Ace Hardware, the Mr.DIY ones are too diluted so can't cover the base color. Regret, i used NOW cans witch cost rm15.xx no issue. I guess pay peanuts get banana.

I sprayed the same way i did before than, only difference is i switch to newer can (should be same stock batch). The older can feels diluted near the bottom. I don't think paint not fully dry is the main issue since i've been doing the same thing. I did spray at good distance.

seem like some stock issues there, then have to test it out 1st before really spray on the kit and work out a way if you still want to continue using it.
*
spray it on bare plastic no issue, issue only coats after, and result is inconsistent, some crack some don't.

now the only explanation i can think of is there might be some inconsistency of lacquer thinner on both coats, but i do have to ask recently malaysia kinda rains a lot. are you doing your spray paint before or after rain? coz this kinda screw your paint works too...
*
I spray just now 3-4pm, don't think it rained. I sprayed on another batch of bare plastic but don't have cracking issue, only happens when there's already painted.

i can understand mixture may be different but still cracking so much something must have gone wrong. because i have done even wetter coats on coats before and i get glossy finish not cracks.

anyway any good cheap way to remove the cracked paints? mr.thinner too expensive to use like this, normal thinner also difficult to wipe and damages the plastic. do lighter fluid work?

PS. The Crack happened on both cans in different situation:

1.3 parts cracked after spraying the lacquer on acrylic coat, rest same method but no crack.
2.cracked after spraying a new can of same brand/type after previous coat.

I then tried mist coat from very far, i guess it's not thick enough to do damage, but i kept quite a distance and the coat wasn't that thick for those cracked. And strange part is some crack some don't and seems the shape of the parts have consistency either that or the paint changed it's characteristic in between.

You can get them both at taobao think wil cost you roughly rm80 for box set and rm40 for gp02 include shipping upon conversion rate of 1rm to 1.45rmb. So you can wait till rm gets better to make your dream come true...
*
i don't know how to taobao, last time i check most sell within China only. if ship to malaysia how much roughly? i don't want forwarder ones. also how to search in Chinese? i don't know how to translate Gundam names.

the other cheaper seller not as high level seller as the other hence selling cheaper, not sure whether this is an issue but i have purchase with all sort of level seller without issue so far.

yes all prices are in yuan but the price i gave you in rm, usually shipping starts with 35yuan for the 1st kg and 14 yuan for the following 500g for the best shipping service, currently im trying the other cheaper options so far tractability and lead time are the main issues...

other seller will sell them free of delivery if your forwarder warehouse is nearby but i roughly checked both seller dont have them... also you will get cheaper from specialized modelling shop anyway...
*
how do you check free delivery options? taobao page is quite messy compare to ebay. i've seen cheaper price Zeta box for 82 yuan if they ship for free then better buy separate.

when you say best shipping service you mean EMS?

the only way to figure out shipping is after buy it?

ok i found the estimate using different browser, but it only shows the export to malaysia part, what about from China to Taobao?

also 1st option direct send 1 time? 2nd collective send? 3rd contact buyer? for option 2 works on same seller or i can combine with multiple sellers?

any tips on puttying hollow areas on SD?

i bought a bowl of putty from Mr.DIY for rm6.50, it's like cream so i try to fill the hole as compact as possible but since the putty is still soft everytime i put more i end up removing some, i end up filling the hole but i know it's not compact.

left it dry for 12 hours, come back noticed parts that have big holes to fill have cracked and shrunken in, while parts with smaller holes (smaller surface areas actually) have no problem, also i push those cracked ones it's still abit soft i can push it inwards to compact it more without causing more cracks.

so what should i do next, and am i doing it wrong?

i know putty is like clay, they will shrink when dry.

Wrong putty? You need to get tamiya epoxy putties that has these 2 sticks (white and yellow/brown) you have to mix together and sculpt. This one will get rock hard overnight.

yea i read premixed putty will keep shrinking, and you need A B type putty, but my question is if i buy those A B type in Ace Hardware, will i be able to preserve the unused A & B or i have to finish using them in short period. and how quick do i have to work on the putty once i mixed A & B?

you can try those hardware shop putty as long as they are fine putty, some putty after hardens you can get smooth finish even after sanding.

buy tamiya one to be safe, some china cheapskate use baby body powder mix with gam gajah... not sure if that works
*
Actually Superglue works good because it hardens quick and doesn't crack, but baby powder i dunno lol. i'm not that fond on the fillings cracking as long as the surface is good, will continue work with the DIY putty until i get the AB putty. just not sure how much it will crack over time.

have you ever opened a PG before? it's usually full house inside so flattening the box means more luggage space it needs.

the prices are really much cheaper than in KL, but not sure if the difference will cover the cost of shipping them back via pos jpn, esp with gst @ customs etc nowadays.

if you can send in SAL small packet it would be +rm35.
small box MG fits SAL small packet. you can ship quite a few 1/144 in 1 SAL small packet too and it cost maybe rm55-60.

if bigger box then SAL Parcel which starts from rm60, if bigger ones, EMS or DHL is actually cheaper or similar.

pro tip, shipping books from Japan using DHL has the lowest rates, usually i can send 2-3 books for 1000yen. it'd cost at least 1500yen to ship via other means.

Easy build, but when you paint & putty it becomes as difficult as 1/144.

No. The O is build by Scirocco himself on the Jupitris. Both him and his fleet got wipe out at the same time at the end of Zeta.

Nightingale is made by Anaheim, and Anaheim had fitted sub arms before on TR-1 Hazel in AoZ, 7 years b4 the event of Beltochika's Children.

Of course in real life Izubuchi just slap on stuff to make it look cool and / or to draw connection to past UC designs including The O without really thinking about continuity and stuff like that since AoZ series is made after the fact to fill in the gap.

just like how 0083 is overpowered even comparing with later era series.

that also does not count in the 6% gst and the ever thirsty custom waiting to suck your blood when they saw big parcel with high declare value...
*
GST from Japan or Malaysia? because overseas sales from Japan are not subject to the tax over there.

For local, obviously big parcel raises attention. And i'm not saying it's worth shipping big items via EMS & DHL even though it's same price or cheaper than SAL, merely saying big items are cheaper to send via EMS/DHL, it can cost 5000-10000yen just to ship, and unless you are making lots of saving or something rare it's not so worth it. but those are really really big items. So far i've only purchase 1 such item, size of box is like those DIY packed cabinet in Jusco.

gst of coz from malaysia la, all items above rm500 will have 6% tax incurred from custom i dont think you can get any pg worth ship for lower than rm500 unless you like zaku rx78 a lot.

by the way i tot sal small parcel only valid to all below 2kg things so even ver ka sazabi cant ship with sal, not to say cheaper to send ems/dhl but just that it is the only way to ship bigger items...
*
SAL Small packet has weight and dimension limit, but for the smaller zaku II size MG it fits.

Depends where you buy from it may look like above rm500, it may not. If you know what i mean.

For SAZABI, you can still ship via SAL, but it will be SAL Parcel, price wise will be slightly cheaper, same or more expensive than EMS/DHL. Even with EMS/DHL, sometimes 1 is cheaper than the other, I'm guessing the difference maybe SAL/EMS/DHL has different higher rates on dimension & weight on their calculation.

Even Pos Laju rates jump exponentially when i send Parcel to East Malaysia, it's like rm20 vs rm80, just because the box dimension is above certain limit, and when i say above it's like small Parcel size for SAL Parcel. Weight are both under 2kg. Cut throat. But buyer request Pos Laju because they say "WILL" get lost otherwise.
