EcoTint should be a good tint, just to clarify that I was referring to Safetint on my previous post.
*
If anything, I believe Safetint installed by your sales advisor as extra package. Some salesmen does offer buyer for extra tint, on top of Ecotint.

And I believe Preve Premium still with Ecotint.

Went to a SC to service my car for 80k. Was recommended by the SA to change timing belt, plus several other things, as he said 80k is a major service. I just paid over rm1k for major service at 60k, now I have to pay another rm1k+ just after 20k?

I changed my mind and leave the SC. Upon further checking in the periodical service schedule book, timing belt changing only at 120k. Lucky i didnt go ahead and service my car as per recommended.

Last Wednesday, I went to service my car (Executive Auto) for 80,000km. Prior to that, no abnormalities found and went for a normal service.

Last night, suddenly my 'Check Engine' indicator light up. But I didn't experience any uncommon feels about the car. Just drove as normal. The tachometer clocked around 200km after service.

Do I have to go back to the SC? What is the possible cause of the indicator?

Some feedback to everyone here, last Friday I went to the famous Apple Auto Seri Kembangan, the experience is quite bad and feel that they are very unprofessional, my car is Preve CFE, now its 30 months old, with millage of 36k KM.

So I went to Apple Auto to do my 30 months or 50k KM service, according to the book, I only need to change my EO, EO filter, gasket and Air Filter, with labour charge of RM 72.

However, when i reach there, they inform me say that I need to do "major service", need to change my CVT oil and filter, and want to charge me for RM120 labour charge because it is "major service", so I argue with him say that it suppose to be changed in 36 months service, then he show me the page in service booklet which says 40k km need to change, first of all, every 40km need to change is for severe usage car, my car 30 months only 36k km, really doesnt make sense if they categorise my car as "severe usage", this lead to a more serious problem here, its that they do not understand the concept of 50k km or 30 months, they die die want to follow mileage and do 40k KM service for me (because my mileage is 36k)

After some argument, they finally agreed to let me change my cvt oil and filter in my next service, after that they cancel everything and only do normal EO change for me, but still charge me RM9.90 for octane booster and RM9.90 for screenwash. The girl there even warn me say that if i did not change CVT oil and filter according to the schedule i will lose my warranty.

Then while sitting there waiting, i dig out my last service receipt (also Apple) and found out that they charge me RM 120 for power steering, but service schedule publish by proton only stated RM 30, so clearly they flush out all my power steering oil and change new one. Is this really necessary??

and at the end, they give me quotation for 36 months service, it has an "Engine Tuning" RM50, and CVT Gasket RM 110 which i dont know is what? I saw only PADT2 diagnosis, RM30 from Proton, and there is no such thing as CVT Gasket, only CVT Filter and Oil.

I am seriously considering to bring my car to Shah Alam COSE for my "Real Major Service" at 36 months. and also would like to ask for some opinion here, can I bring my own EO bought from Petronas to Shah Alam COSE? and one more thing, according to proton book, I suppose to change brake oil for RM 72 on my 40k or 24 months service, which Apple did not do for me, should I go to external workshop and change my brake oil??
*
Strange. The last (and only) time I went to Apple for service last year, I just show them the service schedule and they just followed the schedule item by item. I even got the see the technician do the job, chit chatting with him regarding my car.

But one thing for sure, I do not recommend you to go to COSE for servicing. apart from lotsa customers (you have to make an appointment well ahead), the quality isn't that good either. I went there once and they recommend me to change parts doesn't include in the schedule, plus the screewash and etc things. You can check on recommended Proton SC in one of the threads here for good SCs.

You can just call the SC first and ask them to estimate the service cost. Can check also what required to be change / replace.

Hye guys,

I am having problem with my car.

I left my car for two days during outstation. Once I got back, I drive my car and I notice the air conditioner is not working properly. It blows warm air, even after I turn the temp knob to the lowest. Before I went for outstation, the air conditioner working just fine.

1. I tried left the air cond ON for abt 10 minutes to see whether its getting colder, but not happened. Warm air still blows out.

2. I also heard the fans running, when I turning ON the air cond. Meaning the fans is working fine. Its also did not stop for a long time, which is suspect because the cabin temp did not reach the desired temp (temp knob), meaning my sensor is working.

I suspect the gas is out. Maybe from leaking or something. It baffles me since the change is so drastic. I did not notice any problem with the air cond before.

Is there any other possible root cause to the problem?

TQ!

either refrigerant leaked or the fuse box relay problem which someone encountered before, perhaps you can make a quick search.

Thanks for the info. Kinda major problem if fuse box relay problem. How can we know if its really the relay problem or gas leaked? Sked con by SC. hmm.gif sweat.gif

I'm just wondering if you've accidentally pushed the aircon button off, without realizing.  hmm.gif
*
Nope. I did check and I have pushed it on (light's on).

I did check as well with the blower. The air blows out proportional with the knob, so I think there's no problem with the blower.

The compressor also works. Everytime I turn on the aircond, the compressor will start. It doesn't stop because I think the temp inside the cabin well above the set temp at the knob.

prolly going to check at SC later this week.

Proton SC in Nilai advice me to change the fuse box which cost about RM800.00 plus but after waiting for the spare part which took so long thats why I decided to go for outside service as mention earlier.

Wait, isn't that thing included in the warranty, or yours already exceed the warranty period? hmm.gif

Power Steering Fluid

How much is service for 120,000km estimated? confused.gif

Btw, my car turns 3 year old in October and will be around 90,000 km in milage. I'm still servicing at SC so far and my car hasn't really gave much headache to me since I bought it. So i'm wondering whether I'm going to need to continue servicing at SC, or opt out. As I know, major parts of the engine only covers up to three years of warranty, and others up to five years. Since the warranty finished, I'd think better to save some money and service outside, huh? icon_question.gif

It's the other way around IIANM, engine and gearbox related problems are covered until five years as what an SC told me.

Depend on batches. Early batches only 3 years

Yep. from my service booklet, items covered under 3 years warranty are;

- engine
- transmission
- drive train
- cooling system
- fuel system
- suspension
- steering system
- brake system
- electrical system
- air conditioner system
- body interior and exterior

Hi guys,

from the service book, the schedule is up until 100,000km only. I am approaching that figures in 2-3 months time, so how is the schedule after that? how do you service your car after 100,000km?

Hye guys,

Wanna ask something. My car battery kong after three years and 100,+++km. Things is its completely kong, and I cant start my car without jump it with another car.

Hence, what is the best way to replace the battery? Is it can be replaced directly during engine off? or need to turn on the engine first, then only replace with new battery.

My concern with all the ECU and all those things might need to be re-set, after replace new battery, no?

Went to a workshop this morning. Checked my tyres due to humming sound at average speed. Mechanic confirmed the sound is caused by bearing. Rear tyre, driver side.

He said if rear tyre, need to change the whole wheel hub, rather than the bearing only. If front tyre, can change the bearing only. now, how much the cost to change the wheel hub? and can't I change just the bearing only? hmm.gif sad.gif

Anyone knows at how many kms need to change the absorbers. Mine nearing 80k. Recently felt uncomfortable driving. Not sure brcause of tyres or the absorbers. What are usually the other symptom
*
Mine got sounding while driving at 60 - 70 kmh. Checked at workshop, the rear tyres already not even, bumpy here and there. So foreman said due to absorber already out. Checked as well with bearings but seem okay.
