Changing the brake switch would trigger changes in the system, they have to connect to diagnostics to clear the prompts. Maybe they had done it at this time, flashing update process is very quick.
*
About this brake switch, I already know that the latest version is PW822263V3 (Version 3). But when their staff was checking their system, she told me that for PREVE, it should be PW822263V2 (Version 2). She said that on her computer record, PW822263V3 is for IRIS and PERSONA. I asked her to reconfirm this with her mechanic, but she said that they will only recommend as according to what is stated on their computer record.

She said that there is only 1 more piece in stock for PW822263V2 but several pieces more for PW822263V3. In the end, I did not listen to her advise but I chose to buy the PW822263V3, which also cost about RM1.00+ more. I have already tested the electrical connections (as compared to my current brake switch), length and size, and every thing is the same. After installing it, the brake lights and the "P" gear position unlock operation all work as per normal.

Why I decided to change the brake switch is because sometimes it won't release the gear from its "P" position. During such times, I'll have to OFF the ignition and RESTART again to get it to release from "P" position, at times having to do this process more than twice.

Actually, whether V2 or V3, both are also from RENAULT, even if you buy from PROTON. They are Made-In-Italy.

Hi, any PREVE owners here has done the recall for "Upgrade Campaign CVT3 Service Fix"?

Is it any useful after this upgrading?

Yesterday, I was at the PROTON EDAR in Larkin (JB) just to buy a Stop Lamp switch (brake switch).  I was only there for about 15 minutes and later when I checked on my Invoice upon returning home, it had included the job for "000001:  PROD. UPGRADE CAMPAIGN CVT3 SERVICE FIX".

I simply don't understand how can they falsify a record into their Invoice when the job was never even done?  To all those who frequent PROTON SCs, do take note of such a scam by them.

I have already written to PROTON CARE and ask them for an explanation.  With this latest incident, I have no more confidence towards the after sales service of PROTON EDAR SCs.  I cannot imagine how can they fake a job scope into their system when it was never done on the vehicle.  Be aware to all those PROTON owners out there.  This is giving them a bad reputation.

Hi guys, just an update:

I had also forward my complaint twice to lichunrong@proton.com but it was never replied although neither were the 2 emails being returned. So, there should indeed be such a valid email address. Really cannot trust that Chinese CEO as well.

Anyway, after only my 3rd email to PROTON CARE and 11 days later, some one from PROTON EDAR SDN BHD in Larkin, JB, called me. He told me that he'll get their KL office to remove this record from their system and prove to me via WhatsApp.

I asked him how can they ever do such a falsification record for their customers? He then claimed that usually, they will know that the job is still not done and will call the owner within 2 days to arrange for an appointment to do this job, which is the CVT damper replacement recall, requiring a 2-day job. I told him that it's already over 2 weeks but nobody has called me. He just can't answer further.

Anyway, after this incident and also the false record of my CVT oil replacement last year (which I did not replace nor pay for it, but was also recorded as being done on their system), I doubt I'll ever buy the next PROTON vehicle again although I have to admit that it is good value for its price. There was also my alternator case which I had personally saw them removing it and brought it to somewhere within their workshop when I have never complained of any electrical problem. Thereafter, my charging voltage is no longer the usual 14.4 Volts but only at about 13.9 Volts. Although I have no proof that they could have swapped my good alternator, but from the immediate differences in the charging voltage shown, definitely something had been done in relation to the alternator.

In fact, a new PROTON vehicle leaving its factory is quite well in condition and performance. The biggest problem is their extremely bad and even fraudulent after-sales service as in my case. I've also heard from my neighbor that the HONDA service centers are equally bad, probably because they are all under the same DRB HICOM group. Looks like I'll have to look to PERODUA or NISSAN for my next purchase. PROTON has lost a loyal customer.

Nissan Tan Chong Motor (TCM) also quite bad. especially for warranty claim

Last time when I owned a RENAULT in Singapore, one of the headlamps had water vapors after a rainfall. Immediately they replaced a pair for me with no questions asked. For my PREVE, they said that if the vapors will dry out after 30 minutes of headlamp operation, it is not covered by warranty. They are totally trying to absolve from responsibility because after 30 minutes of headlight operation, whatever bloody vapors would have been evaporated by the heat within the headlamp housing. It's not flooded with water to begin with. What crap are they trying to reason with me? A total bullshit.

In my experience, u can go to other branch if sc start giving that reason. Been there on my leaking driveshaft Accord. Semenyih SC raise up the car, together view the car from below with technician. The sc guys (maybe manager) with me together, they concluded it is normal to leaking some oil.

Straight go to new era kajang Sc, repeat same, but sc manager start taking parts no for warranty claim.

Last time i got problem i find SC SC kenot fix i email to icare proton, then they will fuk gao the workshop until the workshop manager say next time anything can tell him he will settle for me before i go icare lol. Of coz with valid reason. Mine was the engine mounting after 2 yrs then vibrate hard i say cannot be like tat lousy, then the SC agent say is wear n tear not covered. So i terus fuk gao proton actually, then they call the SC to change for me.

A few thing also i email icare they will settle the workshop when workshop abit reluctant. Dunno now la

With this kind of dishonest and insincere after-sales service they give to their car owners, I don't think my next vehicle will be another PROTON, although I have been interested in their X70. I had started with SAGA in 2010 and the PREVE in 2015. Now, no more PROTON for me and neither will I recommend to friends and relatives as I will warn them of their scams for the service and warranty claims. They have tarnished their own reputation and they only have themselves to blame.

If there is any PROTON management staff reading this post, I hope you'll realized how bad your Service Centers are performing, to the extent of even faking repairs and recalls without even doing the job. This is tantamount to cheating your customers. Don't take your customers as fools. vmad.gif vmad.gif vmad.gif

In my experience, doesn't matter what brand, there will be one or two bad SC which make people eventually hate that brand. In my case, the Semenyih SC was the worst SC I ever faced it on Honda. I even quarrel with the SC branch "manager" as they said leaking oil on driveshaft is normal in Accord hence cannot proceed warranty.  He think Im so stupid & not know about car. Big F to that SC.

However, went to Kajang New Era, as well as Sg Long Kajang SC, they very entertain for my warranty claim. Go there, verify, take pictures, straight away come out with warranty claim & part no, was given 2 weeks for parts to arrive

I believe Proton too has few SC which was with good review.

For the PROTON EDAR SDN BHD's SC in Larkin, JB, it is tantamount to a criminal offend. How can they ever falsify a service job into their system without even performing the actual task? And this had happened to me twice, not the first time, by this same SC. I wonder how many other unassuming owners had been similarly cheated by them already? And that bloody Chinese CEO (Li Chun Rong) is equally bad by not replying to my 2 emails. If the one at the top is already rotten, how much better can you expect from his subordinates?

Not sure. But if it related to criminal or commercial, by logging a police report under commercial act report is much better and then forward it to the ceo/ proton care email etc. Of cz they will look at it.

Btw why went there 2nd time if know the sc problem.

This second time I was there only to buy a brake switch and I intend to DIY myself. No servicing being done.

Hi all,
Forty, my preve CFE suddenly has a issue. The gear start at P and not able to shift out to 9ther gear.
I have try stop and start the engine many times, brake light also okie.
Any other thing I should do?

Appreciate your advice. Thanks
*
Change the brake stop lamp switch (PW822263V3). Cost RM24.35. There are 2 independent set of contacts in that switch: 1 NO and 1 NC. The brake light is one of them and the other one is for releasing the gear from "P".

Continuing on my car temp up saga. My fren told me if the car aircon no switch on, the temp wont up. If switch on aircon, then temp will up. Is this still is fan motor problem?
*
With the air-con switched ON and compressor engaged, the radiator's fan speed will be at the fastest (compared to OFF). Check this out. PREVE has only 1 fan which is actually not good and I consider this a design flaw.

So tat means my fan is not running at full speed. So for this, most likely is fan motor problem? Or could it be relay problem?
*
It could be a relay problem, meaning the high fan speed relay is not operating.

ah ok.. this one need to change the whole fuse box ka? got any idea which relay need to change?
*
K1 is for High Speed
K2 is for Low Speed
If you compare carefully, relays K1 and K2 are interchangeable.

Check also the JEF5 (High Fan Speed) Fuse
and the JEF6 (Low Fan Speed) Fuse
Make sure neither fuse is not blown.

If both relays and fuses are good, then it's most likely due a faulty fan motor.

Ok thanks for the info. Will check when balik. To check relay, use multimeter ka?

You need some basic electrical knowledge to properly check the relay.

Yeah.. my friend did it together with me. Turns out is not relay issue but melted harness after did some continuity test on the cable. Did some cleaning at the contact clip, managed to get it working while waiting for replacement to come in. Here they selling 350 for 1 while it is rm68 at shopee lol. Thinking of changing the cable to bigger size one when it comes. Will it solve the problem?
*
Just ensure that the new cables must be able to take the load (aka current).
