Hi, any PREVE owners here has done the recall for
"Upgrade Campaign CVT3 Service Fix"?
Is it any useful after this upgrading?
Yesterday, I was at the PROTON EDAR in Larkin (JB) just to buy a Stop Lamp switch (brake switch). I was only there for about 15 minutes and later when I checked on my Invoice upon returning home, it had included the job for
"000001: PROD. UPGRADE CAMPAIGN CVT3 SERVICE FIX".
I simply don't understand how can they falsify a record into their Invoice when the job was never even done? To all those who frequent PROTON SCs, do take note of such a scam by them.
I have already written to PROTON CARE and ask them for an explanation. With this latest incident, I have no more confidence towards the after sales service of PROTON EDAR SCs. I cannot imagine how can they fake a job scope into their system when it was never done on the vehicle. Be aware to all those PROTON owners out there. This is giving them a bad reputation.
Hi guys, just an update:
I had also forward my complaint twice to lichunrong@proton.com but it was never replied although neither were the 2 emails being returned. So, there should indeed be such a valid email address. Really cannot trust that Chinese CEO as well.
Anyway, after only my 3rd email to PROTON CARE and 11 days later, some one from PROTON EDAR SDN BHD in Larkin, JB, called me. He told me that he'll get their KL office to remove this record from their system and prove to me via WhatsApp.
I asked him how can they ever do such a falsification record for their customers? He then claimed that usually, they will know that the job is still not done and will call the owner within 2 days to arrange for an appointment to do this job, which is the CVT damper replacement recall, requiring a 2-day job. I told him that it's already over 2 weeks but nobody has called me. He just can't answer further.
Anyway, after this incident and also the false record of my CVT oil replacement last year (which I did not replace nor pay for it, but was also recorded as being done on their system), I doubt I'll ever buy the next PROTON vehicle again although I have to admit that it is good value for its price. There was also my alternator case which I had personally saw them removing it and brought it to somewhere within their workshop when I have never complained of any electrical problem. Thereafter, my charging voltage is no longer the usual 14.4 Volts but only at about 13.9 Volts. Although I have no proof that they could have swapped my good alternator, but from the immediate differences in the charging voltage shown, definitely something had been done in relation to the alternator.
In fact, a new PROTON vehicle leaving its factory is quite well in condition and performance. The biggest problem is their extremely bad and even fraudulent after-sales service as in my case. I've also heard from my neighbor that the HONDA service centers are equally bad, probably because they are all under the same DRB HICOM group. Looks like I'll have to look to PERODUA or NISSAN for my next purchase. PROTON has lost a loyal customer.
