That wooden back finish is nice. And great job on the matching yellow highlights for the camera module and speaker grilles.

Ya, if Moto release Moto maker worldwide, I will not hesitate and getting it.

They are quite slick in maintaining the US only address delivery so as to keep the exclusivity; especially when it comes to MotoMaker for the Pure Edition.

Phone Arena - Motorola Moto X Pure Edition review

A well balanced write up of the Moto X Pure Edition with a very decent scoring by Phone Arena.

Collected my Moto X Pure Edition from SyathibiyMegat yesterday rclxms.gif

my short feedback after using this device for about 24 hours.

1) It's nicer to hold than my note 5 despite it's on paper thickness. I said on paper thickness because either in hands or in the pocket, it doesn't feel thicker than note 5 at all. Perhaps due to it's slim edge.

2) I like the display more than note5. note 5 has unbalanced colour (yellowish / pinkish part) but this one the color is consistent across the screen. The white is more natural than the note 5 too... if only it has the same 'black' as note 5 than definitely it will be the best in every aspects.

3) The phone feels snappy. I've preloaded my 128gb micro sd with 40gb of stuffs, and the internal (mine is 64gb version) with 20+ GB of files and 147 apps were installed from play store.

4) The battery drains noticeably faster than the note 5. To be fair, I've to give few days or week of usage to get more accurate results.

5) The camera is great. not the greatest I've ever used but I do like some of the pics taken using this camera.

6) The speaker is loud, but lack some bass, or can i say lack umpph? As far as I remember nexus 6 has better sound quality than this. I'll try to compare with my friend's nexus 6 soon.

7) My total cost of ownership is more than 3.2k. which is rm500 extra than I expected due to change of shipping method, gst and sirim. Honestly at this price, I might think twice before buying this device, not because it's not a good phone, but at this price, it has lost one of it's key selling point - low price. So bro Megat, as per our conversation yesterday, I think it's fair for customer to being told earlier that your stated price does not include Sirim and GST. I always thought the price you stated in your thread include these 2 things. It is important to let the customers know the estimation of total cost so we can compare the price, hassles and decide whether to purchase from you, other seller or even purchase ourselves from ebay. Other than this, I have absolutely no problem to highly recommend you. I'm a grateful person and what past is past, so thank you. thumbup.gif

8) Will I recommend this phone? Yes. Even over the note 5? Well if you need micro SD slot, a simpler phone to use and the privilege of having rare device in our market that is congested with iPhone and Samsung users, I guess at the moment this is the best phone you can get.

Samsung Note 5 adaptive fast charger VS Moto turbopower charger. Both were tested with Moto X PE.

After seen your post I feel more want.

Since you also use Nexus 6. I got one question is the Moto X Pure Edition pure white? For me Nexus 6 is damn yellowish.

I had 2 nexus 6 before. The first one had pinkish / reddish tint and 2 one a bit warm but better than the 1st one.

I cant compare directly since i dont have nexus 6 to compare with, but my first impression of this moto x is the white looks very fine and easy on eyes.

Some updates on my experience with this Moto X PE.

1) display comparison between nexus 6 and moto X PE

*both display are at 50% brightness
Attached Image

2) sound test between nexus 6 and moto X PE. Both actually has equal bass, but Moto X PE is a little bit louder and that's where it's lost some of it's clarity. lower down the volume a bit (is still louder than nexus 6), it's sound quality is on par with Nexus 6.

So far the Pure, no. But the Style released in India seem to have a dual-sim variant.

Hi,

Thanks for posting this review! a few questions need your help to comment

1) Does the US edition of Moto X Pure Edition work with local Malaysian Telecom 4G LTE, can you please post some pics showing the local telecom network with 4G?

2) Can i use the US Power plug off the box - and plug into the local Malaysia power points ?

3) Roughly how many apps did the phone come loaded with? can you uninstall them / or remove them?

thanks!
