Phew. In Germany, if you order a Jetta, it is a RM 1700 option. Same thing for the Golf Mk7.
If I see it right, the Highline variant of the Golf sold in Malaysia is actually not a Highline. It's a Trendline or (more likely) Comfortline. Highlines are pretty easy to distinguish by the glossy black trim in the center console, whereas the lesser variants come with plastic that looks like brushed aluminium (it would be awesome to have actual brushed aluminium or better yet stainless steel in the center console for the Highline... that piano black trim scratches easily, is quickly covered in fingerprints and constantly looks like covered in dust... actual metal would look so much classier). Also, Mel Stripe is only available on the sports seats in the center, while the Highline by default comes with sports seats, but the area you sit on is Alcantara. Fabric is only used at the sides (Mel Stripe does look pretty cool, but the Alcantara feels nice

). Also, the PT article mentions that the Highline has LED DRLs... but it looks to me like it has the standard HIDs without Dynamic Light Assist (there should be a camera at the mirror, and the area surrounding the HID looks like it is chrome), which means it has halogen DRLs.
@r3kahsttub: Ah, thanks

So you did a long exposure and walked around the car?
Yeah, I'm in Germany. My car has a couple of options you don't find on the Malaysian ones.
It's a Highline, built at the end of 2012 (just after the Mk7 was launched... fingers crossed).
Sports seats with Alcantara.
Discover Pro headunit with GPS (I've also driven a Golf with Composition Media, which has the smaller screen, and it is pretty laggy compared to the Discover Pro headunit).
2 extra airbags for rear passengers, bringing it up to 8.
6 speed manual gearbox.
Sun roof (never expected to like it as much as I do... not the greatest idea in Malaysia, perhaps, but when it is warm, but not too warm, I just open it in towns. And the light that comes through makes the car brighter inside... somehow that's nice).
Dynamic Light Assist (the HIDs turn into corners... not by much, but it helps and looks cool, and the highbeam looks at the location of other cars and puts up blinds so they aren't blinded... basically you can drive with highbeam without blinding others. Haven't had the chance to test it properly yet).
Adaptive Cruise Control, and mine still has the long range radar sensor (it's the round thing below the number plate, newer Golfs have a flat sensor, which is only a mid range radar sensor. That one notices other cars later, and has to adjust more abrupt). Works between maybe 30 and 160 km/h, though when you slow down it will slow you down until 20... then it beeps and lets go of the brakes. It should engage again if I'm really going to crash into the car in front, but obviously I didn't try that. Not sure how the system works in conjunction with the DSG, maybe it will work in traffic jams, i.e. starts, stops, ...? Anyway, I've used it extensively, and it only failed me 1 1/2 times. One car it didn't notice, but that was a Toyota Yaris, and we were going over a hill, so he was pretty low... and the second time it noticed there was a car... then thought there was none, then it was back, and gone, and back, ... In Audi vehicles you can select between no ACC, ACC until 160 (using mid range radar) and ACC until 210 (using long range radar). Shame VW doesn't let you use the long range radar for that, but at least it is more fuel saving than the mid range radar.
Lane Assist... the car didn't come with it, but it has all the hardware required to do it (the camera needed for Dynamic Light Assist), so I asked someone who can program VW cars to enable the function for me. It works... ok. I wouldn't rely on it, i.e. go hands off, and it is a bit odd to feel the car steer for you, but it is a nice safety net that can save you. He also enabled the feature where the rev meter and speedometer go to the max and back when you turn on ignition. Normally you have to buy a GTI for that... it's pointless, but looks cool
Driving profile selection without DCC (adjustable suspension). I can set the way the cruise control acts, the weight of the steering wheel, set the aircon to fuel saving, throttle response, ...
Auto folding mirrors.
Interior lighting pack... there are lights in the foot well, plus lights for the door handles, and there is a lit up stripe in the doors going almost all the way... all just up front though. The interior lights are all LED, and there are lights in the mirrors to light up the road. Not exactly necessary, but kinda cool. One of those options I never expected to like, but now do.
Storage compartments under the front seats.
No LED tail lights... to be honest they look a bit aftermarket to me, with those single dots.
No Park Assist.
No keyless entry, no push button start.
Oh, and you can't have the color. It's Oryx White, with pearl effect. It actually does look a bit like a pearl

Actually there are many colors not offered in Malaysia. VW offers 37 different paints.
Including this stunning color:

Or a red that they literally call coke...
