after more than the promised 24hrs, i called in to enquire; was told that yesterday ticket is still in-progress.

i didn't tell her that i went already into online custcare beforehand, an hour earlier, and already seen that yesterday's "change rate plan" order was closed right around the time i logged in, almost at the end of 24hrs mark, and a new duplicate order was submitted afresh.

upgrade offer for basic 38 to Blue 45 (5 GB + 5 GB) is only available via 1111.

new signup via counter or bluecube online will only get the Blue 45 (2 GB + 2GB).

"change rate plan" via counter will also get the current blue 45 (2 GB + 2GB).

i asked about the news that existing blue 45 gets upgrade from whatever to 5+5.

does it apply to my spouse' line? "nope", according to 1111. my understanding is those that got the "promotional 2+2" blue is not the same as those that got "normal 2+1" blue 45.
the blue-to-blue upgrade to "5+5" probably only applies to those that were promotional sign-ups.

Here's my observation.

Basic 38 promo upgrade to Blue 45
OCS will display rate plan as "FiRST Blue 2.0".

Blue 45 signed up via Blue Cube end-November
OCS will display rate plan as "FiRST Blue II".

Blue 45 signed up via counter early-December
OCS will display rate plan as "FiRST Blue II".



(1) Can anyone who signed up Blue 45 DURING the earliest "2+2" promo check what's the name of their rate plan in OCS?

(2) Can anyone who signed up Blue 45 AFTER the earlier "2+2 carry" promo check what's the name of their rate plan in OCS?

no wonder dear wife never got upgrade to blue 45 5+5.

1111 checked. apparently when we went to sign up for blue 45 promo last year, the counter signed her up for something called "one plan" instead.

that explains why she couldn't "BAL STATUS" from 28882 but instead had to use "VOL STATUS" from 22188.

darned counter staff. missed opportunity to get "loyalty" upgrade.

my bill is on 8th. I called to convert on morning the 6th. I tracked in system.

the next day, that order to upgrade was cancelled almost on 24hrs mark, and immediately replaced by a new "within 24hrs" order. so i called them up at noon the 7th, and was told the order is still in progress. I didn't tell he that I know the order she's referring to was actually the replacement order. but the custcare will put in order to expedite.

I tracked in system again. nothing about expediting.

upgrade was eventually done around 3pm. i'd estimate at 28hrs after my call on the 6th.

the upgrade is considered 2 actions.

- terminate current plan. this will trigger termination clause in which the full commitment fee will still be liable in "last" bill.

- sign-up for replacement plan. this, will entitle you to prorated voice, sms, data calculated till next "first" bill.

if this upgrade is over-the-counter, you'd have to pay the upfront fee for the replacement plan. any extra after the prorate to "first" bill will be carried forward. then you'll have the amount from "last" bill, ....
amount in next bill = upfront of replacement plan - (prorate of replacement plan "first" bill + full amount of previous plan "last" bill + excess use)

since you upgraded via 1111, they just charge you exact prorate since they can't exactly ask you to pay upfront.
amount in next bill = (prorate of replacement plan "first" bill + full amount of previous plan "last" bill + excess use)


so if you have something to do that is equivalent to replacing current plan, do it near to bill date since (i) you are going to be charged full anyway for the previous plan and (ii) reduce the prorate amount from replacement plan by doing. it as near as possible to next bill date.

yes. treat this "first" + "last" bill as transition period.

you're not alone. I also expected my last bill to be prorated as the usual practice we are so used to - until someone in here brought attention to celcom's clause.

wouldn't be surprised the other telcos and industry will follow suit under pretense that unlike the prorated entitlement in first bill, they could not otherwise determine how much of your quota have been consumed by the time you terminate. you could in theory finish all your 3GB + 50 mins + 50 sms in the first minute into new bill cycle, and celcom can argue would be a loss to celcom if you do that and terminate the very next morning with prorated bill.

call them. ask if your umber is listed to upgrade from 38 to 45 (5+5).

particular stress on the 5GB weekday + 5GB weekend.
because out there, the current rate plan is only Blue II (2GB anyday +1GB carry), a lesser offer which you can also "upgrade" to.

so be damn sure which Blue is being offered to you before agreeing.
