I'm planing to get an e6300 with a DS3 motherboard. What is the best hsf for it?...some people claim that you can overclock these C2D's with just the stock fan...true?..i highly doubt it.

Yeah...did a search on it...and fromt the reviews it certainly looks good. It even beat the scythe infinity. Is it available here already? QUOTE(TheForce @ Nov 8 2006, 09:33 PM) cannot la..too far. I'm staying in JB. Have to look around the shops here...usually very hard to find. Since you stay in JB, u might as well head over to Spore...scythe cooler is quite popular there but u have to make sure your casing can accommodate this infinity or ninja |

Singapore surely can get but all dam expensive la...exchange rate now is 2.3
I think i'll settle for a Hyper TX...if i can find it. Btw, a Centurion 5 should be able to accomodate these coolers, right? |

The Coolermaster Hyper TX design is almost the same as Thermaltake Silent Tower.....
i believe Silent Tower can perform better than this because there are definitely more fins than the TX and the surface area is bigger This post has been edited by AllnGap: Nov 8 2006, 10:48 PM |

I think u are better off with Scythe Ninja or Infinity since u can get these 2 coolers easily at bulk order, i myself using Ninja, very satisfied with it. The hyper TX won't beat Ninja or Infinity for sure, it's just build to be quiet and an adequate performer

I can hit 3.2GHz at stock voltage and using a stock heatsink though, just that my crappy RAMs ain't stable...
At that point, my full load temp is about 64C only, how the hell they could get such a high temp at only 2.05GHz? |

if u are capable, buy ninja becos many ppl using it, so assume it is a good cooler out there. Then take some AS5 as thermal paste. Well, ur gc temp is very high, u need to do something to ur casing.

QUOTE(sHawTY @ Nov 9 2006, 04:04 PM) If i were you, i won't settle for Scythe Ninja... Much better is abit of an overstatement really.Thermalright Ultra 120, Scythe Infinity and Coolermaster Hyper TX is much much better than Scythe Ninja... And i were to choose, i'll choose Thermalright Ultra 120 from any other choices... Because it's the best of the best... The downside of it, you have to wait for a while as Ultra 120 is on worldwide shortage... The Ultra-120 is only marginally better and it's rectangular shape means less flexibility in terms of mounting whereas the Ninja is a square which means you get your choice of fan mounting in any mobo regardless of socket orientation. As for performance, the Infinity and HyperTX I daresay only excel under higher airflow conditions. Anywhere from medium to low, the Ninja is a more efficient cooler. And I'm not just saying that because I own one. |

Should be better put toward the back fan (exhaust mah)...especially if it is a 12cm fan... it will pull out the hot air nicely from the case .....
usually i wont burden my PSU to do the job to reduce the chances of dust accumulating inside.... |

remove, clean the thermal paste, apply another layer of thermal paste then mount ur HSF again...
make sure thermal paste is spread evenly and not to thick nor too thin... carefully but firmly mount ur HSF .... |

Take out the heatsink, clean the old thermal paste, clean it with using Arctic Cleaner, apply a new thermal paste, then resit the heatsink properyly...That should do it, don't overdo the thermal paste... Make it in the middle, not too thick, not too thin... |

QUOTE(Canopies @ Nov 16 2006, 06:50 PM) pls recommend me a heatsink .....budget around 100-200... You can't get a heatsink that can cool you're E6300 in extreme if you're budget is around RM100...I hope i can oc my E6300 extremely with low budget ...haha The best is, max up you're budget to RM200... Then, go get you'reself either this three heatsink: 1) Thermalright Ultra 120 2) Scythe Infinity 3) CoolerMaster Hyper TX CoolerMaster Hyper TX is the cheapest from all those three options... This three heatsink are proven to be 3 of the best 3rd party heatsink in the market... Don't buy it at Lowyat Plaza... You'll be surprised that those heatsink in Lowyat Plaza is more then RM200... Go to bulk section, and find someone that is doing bulk on one of the heatsink... Price in those bulk section is much much cheaper than Lowyat Plaza... |

I compared with TAT...and he uses a cheep mobo...BTW i'll try reinstall the paste.BTW ... Ultra-120 or infinity better if noise is not an issue ! Let's say, u buy a Scythe Infinity heatsink, then use a Delta Tri Bladed fan, sure it will rock you're pc like hell... Will cool down you're processor to the extreme, but beware of the noise... Compare between Ultra-120 and Scythe Infinity on using wat kind of fan, U guys had to be very careful. Ultra-120 can basically use any 12cm fan with different thickness ( 25mm, 32mm, 38mm and so on) whilst scythe infinity can only use 25mm thickness fan. So Shawnty, Delta Tri bladed fan is 32mm, I dont think U can use it on Infinity unless U use other method to tie it up. Get yr fact rite ... @Shawty
Thanks for all those Informations. But how bout my GPU ...now im very concerned on my Graphic Card. It reached 80c. I tried to lower down the core/memory frequency to 266mhz. The temp is still the same! Should i apply thermal paste? Air cooler or water cooler?? @Neoxz Thanks...i went to the site .. and there is a safety precaution: A modern hi performance CPU can be permanently damaged in less than 10 seconds without proper cooling...!! |

Guys, I need a bit help here. I also need a new CPU heatsink for my DS4 + LGA775. Price doesn't matter and I wan the heatsink to be
1) Full copper (yes, including the fin would be perfect) 2) Can do combo cooling like Gigabyte G-Power Pro/Lite can do. (this is important because if u know the design of DS4 it cools the mosfet and chipset down like 2~3 degree.) google alot and so far i only see thermaltake typhoon series with the requirement i wan, but does not look very nice. donno bout the performance too. Hope to get something like G-Power Lite. And I believe the XP-90c does not cool the surrounding also, am i rite Mr. shawty?! |

Depend on how much u OC and now much is ur vCore and vFSB..
if 2.8GHz then about 64-65*C, 3.01GHz or above then >66*C |

QUOTE(deric88 @ Dec 6 2006, 03:50 PM) hmm, my e6300 at 100%(folding@home) core temperature around 65, if use TAT set workload 100%, shoot up to 70C, using stock thermal paste and hsf maximum 70C is a bit high, rite? I believe change ur thermal paste will be better, like AS5! btw my clock speed 350x7 stock vcore |

QUOTE(deric88 @ Dec 10 2006, 12:25 PM) Not just in malaysia, it's a worldwide shortage...Seems like the Ultra 120 is the most "laris" heatsink on the market right now... QUOTE(vassalle @ Dec 11 2006, 03:50 AM) Google up in Yahoo, you'll see tons of reviews on that heatsink... |
